SLC-S29/W2-“Thinking and Ideas!| Simple Solutions to Big Problems!”

Hello, everyone, I'm pleased to have you here. It is another day for us to look into an interesting discussion in which I have presented my entry.
Choose a global or local problem (education, waste, traffic, unemployment, loneliness, etc.). Propose a simple, realistic solution that does not rely on advanced technology.
Waste Management (Local & Global Issue)
My chosen problem is waste management (local & global issue) which I have proposed simple, realistic solution to the problem of waste management.
I will introduce a community-based waste sorting and cleanup program. In doing so, I will ensure that households are encouraged to separate waste into three basic categories:
- Organic waste (leaves, food scraps)
- Recyclable waste (paper, cans, plastic bottles)
- Non-recyclable waste.
I will go further to support community volunteers and local leaders so that they can organize weekly cleanup days, while organic waste could turn into compost for small farms and home gardens.

Recyclable materials would be sold to local recycling collectors, which would create income opportunities for people. This proposed solution doesn't require the use of advanced technology; it simply requires education, cooperation, and routine for me or anyone to achieve this solution.
Who would benefit most from this solution?
Almost everyone would benefit from this solution, but the category of those who would benefit most is:
Local residents, who enjoy a healthier environment and cleaner streets.
Low-income earners and their families, who could earn a small income from recyclable materials or benefit from compost for farming use.
Children, who are most affected by pollution-related illnesses, would also benefit most from gathering waste.
If I'm to reduce waste management costs, local governments would benefit more than federal and state governments.
What possible challenges or limitations do you think your idea might face?

My idea might face the following possible challenges or limitations:
Limited access to recycling buyers in some areas would be a challenge for me
Lack of discipline or awareness among residents to consistently sort waste can be a challenge for me.
As habits take time to form, initial resistance to change can be a challenge for me because I would need to understand people before taking action.
Poor leadership or coordination at the community level can be a challenge for me especially when I delegate someone to help me.
Irrespective of these challenges, what matters most is consistent education, community involvement, and local leadership, which can make my proposed solution effective and achievable over time.

You have selected a great problem and provided simple solutions. I have done my post for this 2nd week contest. Thanks for inviting me though!
