Broken Trust

This is an interesting topic that would allow us to learn directly from it. You must have trusted someone in your life before, this could be either your parents, spouse, partner, colleague, or even siblings.

However, let's look at this Broken Trust by using the contest guide and see what it's saying.

What do you think the word trust means?

The word Trust is one's ability to put behind all evil words said to someone he/she truly knows or loves. This could be family members, friends, neighbors, husband and wife.

Trust can also be seen when you give a person a trial by committing responsibility to his hands (Monetary value) and he/she shows integrity and transparency in handling that which was entrusted to his hands. Note, that trust can not just be determined except when put to the test.

Presently in your country, do the citizens feel safe to trust one another? If not why? And if yes why?

In my country Nigeria everyone is a suspect! The citizens can't trust themselves this is because of ambition. This is because of fame, looking at yourself to be superior to another, and fighting for political power.

How can citizens trust themselves when one opponent can go the extra mile to assassinate the fellow! This is what we are facing in our country.

The just concluded election in my country Nigeria, all that was done shows a typical example of a lack of trust in the present administration. Once you have people in positions in which money can buy their worth, it shows a lack of trust in the citizens of the country and this is what is happening now in Nigeria my country.

High-ranking positions should not be given to money mongers but people who are tested over time concerning money factors and also proven that their trust can last over time.

Have you had any experience where your trust in someone was broken? Or such a scenario from a Friend?

My trust was broken with my colleague in the same profession. It all happened when I had a job and my client called me to meet him at his house, while I carried my so-called trusted colleague to come and help me talk on the price for the coverage.

This was where my trust in him was broken! After all our settlement on the job with the client, we went home together and I never knew that when I was getting the client's second phone number due to the network where he stays, my colleague was also typing the client number.

He went behind and called the man and collected the job from me. When it reached the date on which the client said I should go and get a cash advance for the job, I called to confirm if he was at home, but he replied "I'm not around now, once I'm ready don't worry I'll call you"

I felt all was well and relaxed. Not knowing that that job had been done behind my nose.

Can you suggest ways to mend broken trust?

Broken Trust can only be mended on wisdom. This is because it's not easy to trust anyone that has betrayed you.

Some of my points in which broken Trust can be mended can be seen below:

1. Show love to those who have broken your trust in the past. This will make you a supernatural bein before them.

2. Call them and declare before them that you have forgiven them. This will make the betrayal to have more confident in you.

3. Try to encourage them with good words and make them know that what happened wasn't their fault but time and chances had caused it. Note: this can be in any aspect of life such as relationships, amongst siblings, society, and even in the church.

4. Once trusted again, don't betray the trust.

In conclusion, trust is not built for nothing, there's a need for something to take place before trust can be built upon. Note, to trust someone is not easy as it's said but the person being trusted may pass through some unaware test to show competence, accountability, and reliability before being trusted.
