Greetings dear steemians. Hope you all are doing well. I'll like to share my day with you all.

Dear Diary...
With the absence of the threatened protest in Uyo, I decided to visit Steem solar & Electricals at Nwaniba for the promised components in the electronic Academy by one of the professors @ubongudofot.

I first heard about Steem solar & Electricals when I was introduced to steemit by my mentor @manuelhooks but I've never been there neither do I know the location. At first I thought to search google map but no result was found so I had to find a way to reach the director thank God for the Discord address I found on his blog. I was able to get the location and directions from him.

So after finishing with all the morning activities and publishing a post on a community, I was ready to head out.
I'm not really familiar with Nwaniba so I contacted a friend that lives around the area to know how much will take me there due to the fluctuation in transportation fare.

When I got to Plaza, I found a bus, told him where I'm headed and entered. I should had told him I do not know the place, but I was certain I'll easily locate the place. Steem solar & Electricals is located opposite Eniong Primary school and government primary schools in Akwa Ibom State shared peculiar similarities making it easy to find. So when I drove past the waters fountain I scanned for the school. And fortunately the driver remember my stop so he asked to confirm and I alighted. He drove a few metres pass the shop so I walked back and got to the shop. It is easy to locate, just along the road.

At the Office

My timing was wrong. The shop was locked. It was in the early hour of the afternoon, lunch time so I had to wait for his return. Shortly after, he came back.

Meeting new people makes me feel nervous but I held it in. I walked into the shop and introduced myself. The reception I got was soothing. He welcomed me as a professor, commented on my performance on the tasks in the academy, gave some vital observations and advice. He is quite straightforward so there was no mincing words but he wasn't harsh either.

I witnessed first hand practicals on electronic components. The practicals are actually very easy and understandable when thorough explanation is given and action seen.
He also talked about steemit gave me an orientation about the platform.
At the end of it all, it didn't feel like I was seeing a stranger.

Did I get the components?

Yes!
I got 6 LED, 2 transistors, capacitor, 1k and 10k resistor, 555 timer, an IC and jumper wire.

I earned some of it by answering questions to test my interest in the course. It was more than I expected and the components were used to build some simple circuit it was really interesting.

With just a jumper wire, battery, a LED of any colour and a resistor, a circuit can be can be built that lights up the LED and many more.
Those components will really go a long way in helping with the tasks in the electronic Academy. Already I used the two transistors I got for the task in the previous week. It was really fun testing myself and getting the results as expected.

The gesture goes a long way to boost my interest. I hope someday I get to build a component that will even come with a switch. Imagine using that on my model in my final year design. But for now, I can actively follow up on the classes.

Getting to learn new thing is a part of life that may come off as hard, but when you go deep, turns out to be interesting and beneficial.

Steem solar & Electricals sells a lot of electrical appliances. I hope to purchase a solar panel that charges my device and also lights up the house.

Thank you @ubongudofot for the warm reception, components and also the tutoring on the electronic Academy. It was a pleasure meeting you in person.

I am impressed by your steps in expanding your knowledge and become better in electrical field. These components will definitely help you through the journey. Now, I wish I was in your city currently to also have a real life experience on how these components work. Your professor is doing a fantastic job. Thumbs up to him 👍🏻💡

Well done dear @lusciouslucy and welcome to Steemit!🤗
You have a nice name and that’s what actually attracted me to your blog 😄

Indeed he is.
Thank you for the commendation.
