There's something that's recently happening in my city and not just my city but the entire Nigeria. ASUU wants to go on strike and this is something that has happened several times for since so many years ago. This strike often happens to federal universities in my country and there was a time a particular state university was part of this strike.

They decided to stop waiting for the government to settle alot of the bills concerning the university. They did alot of things that can make them survive with the government in charge and one of these things was increasing their school fees which I think most people didn't expect.

In the beginning when the school fees was increased alot of people murmured, they weren't happy about it at all until they got used to it and also witnessed the benefits. In 2022 there was a strike and that was the period alot of people knew more about strikes like this.

So many students from federal universities couldn't go to school for more than 7 months and the particular university that left ASUU a long time ago were fully in session when other universities were on strike. This is one of the reasons why most students especially in the University of Portharcourt, rewrote JAMB and made Rivers State University which was the school that decided to be on their own, their first choice.

Most of these students were just new to the school I think from 100-200 level because I know that somebody in final year or 300 level cannot just decide to write JAMB again to join another school that's not on strike. The strike has started again but there's still negotiations and the result of it will determine if the strike should stop or still continue.

Some students have signed out already and I know majority of them are currently happy that they are no longer undergraduates of federal universities because they witness the previous strike and it was totally frustrating to them. I pray the strike doesn't come again so that people's plans won't be ruined or delayed.
