• Ve una película de un género que sueles evitar.

Bueno suelo evitar varias cosas, pero para este reto escogí el genero de terror, pero no el terror básico, este es muy palpable, escogí esta película que vi por curiosidad y no me dejó dormir por dos noches seguidas, en español es el Títere, pero en ingles es Dead Silent.

La película narra que en los años 1930 una viejita tiene un muñeco de títere y es una ventrílocua, pero hay alguien en el público que dice que no lo hace bien y que es falso, pero ella insiste en que es su mayor virtud; sin embargo, ella es rencorosa y rapta el niño y lo trata de convertir en un títere...en el pueblo se corre la voz que el niño ha desaparecido y no saben que ha pasado pero alguien dice que fue la ventrílocua que lo ha asesinado y para ello varias familias se han unido para dar muerte o golpes a la viejita, el cual se dice que le arrancaron la lengua, pero ella en su testamento deja por escrito lo que deben de hacer si muere.

Watch a movie from a genre you usually avoid.

Well, I usually avoid several things, but for this challenge I chose the horror genre, but not basic horror, this one is very palpable. I chose this movie that I watched out of curiosity and it kept me awake for two nights in a row. In Spanish it's called "El Títere," but in English it's "Dead Silent."

The film tells the story of an old woman in the 1930s who works as a ventriloquist with a puppet. Someone in the audience criticizes her for being incompetent and unprofessional, but she insists it's her greatest talent. However, she harbors a grudge and kidnaps a young boy, attempting to turn him into a puppet. Word spreads through the town that the boy has disappeared, and no one knows what happened. Some say the ventriloquist murdered him, and several families band together to kill or beat the old woman. It's rumored that her tongue was torn out, but in her will, she leaves instructions on what should be done if she dies.

El caso es que ella es malvada y en todos los muñecos hay vida de ella para atormentar y matar a todos los descendientes de las familias que se burlaron de ella, todos los que le hicieron el daño a punto de matarla. Ya de por si ella viejita no tenia familia y era lago misteriosa, siempre aislada de las personas y solo atenta a sus muñecos como los hijos que no tuvo. Hay miedo, terror, suspenso, cosas sobrenaturales, etc.

The thing is, she's evil, and all the dolls are imbued with her spirit to torment and kill all the descendants of the families who mocked her, all those who harmed her to the point of killing her. This old woman, who had no family and was somewhat mysterious, always isolated from people and only concerned with her dolls as the children she never had. There's fear, terror, suspense, supernatural elements, and so on.

• ¿Qué te sorprendió más de la película?

De la película El Títere, me sorprendió saber que la viejita logró su muñeco perfecto y que este se encargó junto con su espíritu hacer la venganza de las personas que le dieron muerte, a pesar del tiempo esta villana logro perfeccionarse y nadie pudo con ella, aunque hubo momentos de debilidad de su parte, sin embargo, el mal en sí no fue destruido.

What surprised you most about the movie?

From the movie The Puppet, I was surprised to learn that the old woman created her perfect puppet and that it, along with her spirit, carried out revenge on the people who killed her. Despite the passage of time, this villain managed to perfect herself, and no one could defeat her, although there were moments of weakness on her part. However, evil itself was not destroyed.

• ¿Probarías más películas de este género en el futuro y por qué?

Actualmente no!, he visto algunas reseñas pero ya no me atrae ver películas actuales de terror, no me atrapan como las de antes, creo que ha evolucionado este genero pero no es de mis preferidos, sin embargo a veces soy valiente y veo una y me digo a mi misma: no soy débil y es solo una película. Recientemente vi La Monja y me quedó la impresión, debo verla en el día y no dejar que me afecte jejejeje es algo que pasa cuando uno se mete en la historia.

Yo veo de todo un poco pero este genero ya no es de mis favoritos como cuando era adolescente, en cuanto a mis hijos yo les digo que pueden ver películas de terror si quieren tener una experiencia de miedo o no dormir, ellos no les agrada ni el titulo de las películas de terror ni las de suspenso.

Would you try more movies of this genre in the future, and why?

Not currently! I've seen some reviews, but I'm no longer drawn to watching current horror movies. They don't grab me like they used to. I think the genre has evolved, but it's not one of my favorites. However, sometimes I'm brave enough to watch one and tell myself, "I'm not weak, and it's just a movie." I recently watched The Nun, and it really made an impression on me. I have to watch it during the day and not let it affect me, haha. It's something that happens when you get into the story.

I watch a little bit of everything, but this genre isn't one of my favorites like it was when I was a teenager. As for my kids, I tell them they can watch horror movies if they want a scary experience or to keep them up at night. They don't like the titles of horror or suspense movies.
