Cohabiting is an illegal form of marriage, where adults romantically involve themselves in martial activities without a proper conduct of marital rite. Due to human insatiable desires and appetite, cohabiting is one of the supposed stages of marriage created by humans for human pleasure, we have other stages like dating, courtship etc.
IF SOMEONE LIVES WITH A WOMAN WITHOUT PAYING HER PRIDE PRICE, DO WE SAY THEY ARE COUPLE OR MARRIED??
My honest answer to this question is a CAPITAL NO.
Marriage is an institution created by God for the purpose of companionship and procreating, it is a Union of marital agreement between two adults of opposite gender. In today's generation the word **marriage** has different meanings and interpretations based on humans understanding or personal experience.
Before the status MARRIED is attached to anybody the individuals involved must have performed the traditional, legal and religious rites governing the constitution of marriage. Cohabiting isn't a legal means or way of getting married.
WHAT IS YOUR VIEW ON COHABITING?
If I am to give my honest and direct response to this question without sugarcoating words, I will say cohabiting is a public display of illegality and a system of disrespect to some religions, communities and individuals. I understand we humans have the right to make choices and freedom of expression, regardless, what is bad should be called bad and treated as bad.
IS COHABITING A SHORT CUT TO MARRIAGE?
The answer to this question depends on the interest of the individual indulging in cohabiting, to some people yes it is a short cut to marriage, while to some it is the opposite because not everyone cohabiting wants marital settlement, some maybe cohabiting for personal gain or achievements.
ADVANTAGES OF COHABITING
It depends on the individual and their reasons for cohabiting. If they are cohabiting to get married, then there is no advantage to such practise because religion doesn't support the system. But if the reason for cohabiting is only for personal gain and profit then there are lot of advantages like:
DISADVANTAGES OF COHABITING
There are several disadvantages the act or practise of cohabiting may or may have caused.
Violence: Sometimes harm maybe be done either physical or emotional due to conflict of interest.
Infidelity : there can be violation of emotional trust and hope with no sense of remorse.
Divorce: if a deep investigation is conducted on all divorce cases recorded, the result might show that majority of the cases were not married couples but cohabited individuals with children.
IS IT GOOD TO SEXUAL TEST THE PERSON YOU WANT TO MARRY BEFORE MARRYING THEM??
The answer to this questions depends on who you are, your understanding on what marriage is and what your values and principles are . As for my understanding on what marriage is, it is a legal Union between a man and a woman, so therefore engaging in pre marital sex or any marital activities is not good and shouldn't be practised. The dignity and values of marriage should be kept and protected with respect.
