The Diary Game: 6TH JUNE, 2026. MY 2ND DAY AT BUILDING SITE ALMOST GOT ME KILLED🥺.
I walked into the building site calmly thinking my day 2 will be easier than yesterday, but I was extremely wrong 🥺. Just a wrong step and the wheelbarrow I drove hit a big stone and was trying to control it I step on a very sharp stone and the building engineer just looked at me and said a word😢.
Let me take you back to what happened.
So when I got to site this morning I was assigned to just be packing stone inside the wheelbarrow. Easy work, right? That's Was what I also thought 🤔.
We were two that was assigned the work and the other guy make it look extremely easy. So I loaded my wheelbarrow and when I tried to move it I slipped and the wheel barrow hit a big stone, and I felt a very sharp pain on my waist immediately the wheelbarrow hit the stone.
I was seriously trying to control the wheel barrow, so it don't fall because of the load of stones on it, but while trying to do that I stepped on a very sharp stone, and this time around, all that I could recall was that I left the wheelbarrow and I was completely on the floor shouting, because of the pain😭. And when I checked the back of my leg I saw a cut and blood was coming out. I quickly clean it up with water 💦 immediately.
At first my heart was beating so fast, because this experience hasn't happened to me before. I sat down there for like 5 minutes trying to get myself back when the site engineer came to where I was and he was just looking at me, then he said "YOU ARE LUCKY, BOY". I looked down and that was when I realised this work is no joke. I realised Day 2 was teaching me what yesterday which was Day 1 didn't: on site, small mistake can cause really big problems. I'm home now cleaning the scratch and next time I won't mess up again I will be more careful. I really learned the hard way 💪.
So have you ever fallen at work?
Have you ever have a day 2 moment in your job before?
