Finally moved in to My new house, it's been a busy moment

Gosh! It seems like I am the happiest person on earth today. That feeling of moving into a new house that is yours is filling the air. How about being called the latest landlady? Awesome! Sometimes I blush over all those titles. But my neighbors won't give up calling me that. Well, I can't thank the Almighty enough for this wonderful gift he has given me and my family through steemit.

We finally moved in this past Monday, it was a quick one. Tired already from our "Jehovah's united family" assembly and from pioneers meeting with the CO. Then packing, loading and offloading followed. Along with the arrangements of loads.

We also experienced some setbacks. After the hired vehicle moved with some our out loads, we used our vehicle to pack some. We moved but couldn't get there with the vehicle as it broke down along the road and refused to start. My husband thought it was fuel, he went out and bought some litres and added, but it still didn't move. We pushed it to a corner and discovered that it was the fuel pump that is not pumping well. He called a mechanic to check on it, it was bad, we bought a new one and fixed the next day. And the vehicle was able to get to the house.

We went again to the old house to pack the remaining loads and finally hand over the key to the landlord. On our way back, the same thing happened again. We left the vehicle at a safe place and went home. The next day, it was discovered that the new fuel pump has gone bad again. Well, we bought another one which they said is more stronger and fixed. That one is now better as we have been using it. Old car is old car, we will keep keeping it in other until we can get a new one. But it's very helpful in dropping the kids off to school, going to the meetings and running other errands.

Dear ones, it's a wonderful feeling mixed with great responsibilities as we have to fix somethings to suit us.

Planting of Spices in the compound

I am such a person that have been praying for a moment like this to be able to grow my own food around my house. Moving into my new house have just created that opportunity.

I went to the secretariat here in my city of residence to buy some suckers of pepper, utazi, uziza, scent leaf, curry, five fingers fruit and pawpaw to plant in the compound since there is sapce for them.

Coming back, I planted them with the help of my dear husband. Here are some pictures of them

And others. I also got a gift of ukazi from a cherished mother at our congregation along with sugar cane sucker from my kids' teacher. I have also planted them. Many more will still be planted as time goes on. I can't wait to start making use of them.

My corn is also doing well. Soon, I will.start harvesting them.

Connecting to Electric light From my Neighbors

Since that Monday, it was just yesterday that we were able to tap electric light from our neighbors. We had to get permission from them. They asked us to pay a sum of 5000 naira which is equivalent of 41 steem before we could connect because they too spent some good cash to get the light nearby. It was a good deal for us and we made the payment that yesterday and then called on the electrician to do the connection. Thankfully, we already had the wires we bought when we were still in our old house. That was what was used for the connection.

IMG_20230519_151002_846.jpgthis is the cutout that connects the light to the house.

It was just this morning that light came and guess what? We also had light. It was awesome? Imagine staying without light for that long, though we were making use of our generator but you know how that can be. Just on it for an hour and off again. But I am glad that things are taking shape now.

My overall experience In the new house

Usually, I wake up by 2am, write some publications and make some comments here in steemit. Then sleep again and wake up few minutes to 4 am. But here, I drag myself to wake up my 5:30 am. Why?

This place is spacious, it's airy and it is quiet. In my former house, you wake up to the sound of vehicles and other noise, but here, you wake up to enjoy the songs from flying creatures. It's so amazing! Take a look at the sun rise

IMG_20230519_182822_498.jpgI took this yesterday as I was going out for my usual workout

Look at how beautiful it is.
My workout has not really been consistent due to the duties at hand. But the few days I went out, I went late because I couldn't wake up early. But I believe as time goes on, the duties will reduce and everything will return to normal.

Because we haven't installed kitchen sink yet, I do my washing using my basins as you can see below. I washed a lot of plates yesterday before arranging them

Conclusion

Without doubts, I am so happy to move in. The feeling is undescribable. I can only thank the Almighty for his kindness. I am enjoying the place.

Thank you all for reading through. See you in my next diary.
