Contest: My Neighborhood Watch #69- Reporting Events Around us//Witnessing and Serving as Adhoc Staff During the just concluded Akwa Ibom State local Government Election
But before I start I want use this opportunity to appreciate @xool sustaining this contest on weekly basis though have not been able to follow it up consistently, thanks to everyone who usually take part in every edition of this contest I wish all well in this contest.
INTRODUCTION
Local Government Election in Akwa Ibom State

✓ Councillorship Election
In Nigeria and akwa Ibom State has a whole we operate open ballot system,the two elections were carried out simultaneously that's accreditation and voting at the same time, a night before the election both the Adhoc (PO) Presiding officer and SPO Supervisery Presiding officer camp in the rags center for the collection of materials I was serving as APO assistant presiding officer so I went to rag center in morning to join in carrying out the election. I was posted to Urban 2 open space Effiong Udo Akpan. All the Adhoc Staff in the rag center were transported to their different polling units by buses provided by State government

But before we start accreditation we have to address the villagers by first apologies for coming late because election was scheduled to start by 8am and end by 2pm but we got there behind schedule. So my duty as APO was register check and inking which I have been doing even in general elections . When the voters come I will collect their voter card and cross check with the register before the ballot papers are issued to them for voting, after voting you inked the voters so that he/ will not double vote

The final result was announced on Sunday which PDP worn 30 local government and APC worn in only 1 local government area.
it was a nice moment to witness and also conduct the local government election in my state.
I pray that the Nigerian government will use our vote this time around because previously we could vote using ballot paper but it's never counted best wishes dear
Sincerely speaking even while we were there voters still emphasize the same thing that their vote should count.

I believe there's no peaceful election be it general election or Chairmanship Election, election can only be peaceful if we embrace electronic voting, this simply implies voting at the comfort of your home,in some local government I heard that people were killed and in Ibiono they burnt down Akiesie office so sad 😭😢 and terrible, but in all I thank God there was no riot in my area
It is an important thing to set a day to select who will be our leader in this Arm of government,but the issue is are there doing in a proper way ?.

Local Government Election should have been a nice election because it talking about the grassroots people where the activities of government begin.
But even the leaders at the highest level still come down to select who will lead us in Local Government Area and
Wards ,it doesn't make any sense at all.
I thank God you have witness the situation by yourself as an official because some years ago I my self have been an official in local Government Election but, they did not allow us to work properly as we were trained.
The influence of the government in power was much and materials taken away,so I swear not to participate in any thing like local Government Election official duty.
Because lastly, you will not be able to return any thing as a returning officer.
