SC-S28/W5-Movie Highlights|"Old is Gold" (Living in Bondage).

This week engagement challenge is interesting and it reminded me of the old movies I have watched so that I decided to partake in it. And my old is gold movie highlight today centered in one of the old Nigeria movie known as Living in Bondage It's full of love trust and betrayal. It's one of the movie that promote, and stand as a pioneer of Nigeria movie known as Nollywood today. Living in Bondage is a movie full of lesson. Especially to those who are desperate to achieve success in a wrong way.

(Living in Bondage) is one of the movie that was produced in 1992/1993 directed by Chris Obi Rapu, written by Kenneth Nnebue. It's was one of the best Nigeria movie by that time. Acted by Kenneth okonkwo, ngozi nwosu, nnenna nwabueze and the rest of them.

Kenneth okonkwo who's name was Andy okeke in the movie was a young man who is desperate to become rich by all means secrefice his wife to become a rich man. After the death of his first wife he went and married a second wife. As the spirit of his first wife was tormenting him, the second wife betrayed him by running away with his money. At the end Andy ended up as a mad man which makes his life so miserable.

What felt different about the storytelling of the movie compared to newer films?

Anywhere what felt the different about the story telling of the movie compared to newer films of this days is it's dressing code and the simplicity.The dressing in those days was okay or will I say moderate not to compare what they are putting on this days. Like some of the present movies that where some of the actors go naked all in the name of fashion. The straight forward of the movie is unique to compare this days movie that some beating round the bush instead of going straight to the point.

Did the film age well, or did some parts feel outdated?

Yes because it a story that teaches us that every thing we do on this earth has a reward whether good or bad. As the young man was desperate to be rich with out waiting for God's time ended up receiving his reward as a mad man. This is a big lesson to me and you out there that is good to wait for your turn in life. As the Bible says God's time is the best.

Although some parts is outdated like in the area of dressing is totally outdated to compare this present dressing code. Infact almost everything is outdated apart from the actors and actresses because teacnology has taken over everything more now than then.

Living in Bondage is one of the the movie that boosted out the Nigeria movie industry today which the whole known as nollywood and each characters in the movie are great. And the moral lesson is unforgettable.

How did the characters or themes relate to today’s world?

Living in Bondage, is a movie full of moral lesson as Andy okeke the main actor in the movie think that sacrificing his first wife as a money ritual will make him great in life with out knowing that he will end up mad. It is a big lesson. To anyone who thinks that achieving success in a wrong way is the best. In today's world money ritual is not that much to compare to those days. And people who follow the steps foot of Andy okeke some died miserable while some end up mad.
