Something very disheartening happened in my community. One boy fell down from a coconut tree and collapsed. People gathered to render help, but the situation was beyond local assistance; there was no available vehicle around to rush him to the hospital. As they were carrying him on the road, they saw one car packed in the next compound, but the owner was not around, only the wife, who was not knowledgeable about driving. At that moment, people around could not drive the car; they continued to carry the unconscious boy, and he died on their way before they got to the hospital.

Share one idea you believe could improve lives (locally or globally).

From what I said above, I witnessed an accident scene in a lonely place; there was no one to drive the accident victim to the hospital at that time for hours before the road safety came. With this scenario I want to share the idea of Every adult from the age of 18 years who is physically able to have a driving skill. We have families with cars, but their children who are of age cannot drive because of one thing or the other, which is not ideal. Driving should be a must as long as the children are up to the age of 18 years.

Why is this idea important now?

This idea is very important because there are some emergencies that require driving to save a soul whereby people who can drive are not available to carry the patient to where he or she can get help; the person will be left helpless. Again, driving is now an important skill that gives everyone an advantage over others during white-collar jobs. If everyone learns driving, it will help save us from some unforeseen circumstances. For example, if a driver is speeding or exceeding driving limits, other knowledgeable people in the same car can caution him for their safety.
Drivers are earning well now, before carrying file from one office to another you can drive someone or do a commercial driving to earn a living.

Who do you feel needs to hear this idea the most?

Every family needs to hear this; it's important that every family member who is up to 18 years old should learn how to drive in case of unforeseen circumstances. I also think that the government should make it compulsory for every citizen between the above-mentioned ages to have driving skills.

What is the first small step someone could take to begin?

Everybody should begin by learning how to drive from a licensed driving school; having that knowledge is very important in this present world.You must not wait to owe a car before having this knowledge. Start from any driving school around and acquire this skill.Read and understand the highway code in driving; this will help you to learn faster.This idea may be small, but it is very important locally and globally, especially in this modern era where being mobile helps us to move from place to place.
