THE DIARY GAME: 18-12-2025, Easy Going Thursday

Hello everyone, greetings and compliments of the season to each and every one of you. I hope life has been fair to each and every one out there, our hustles fruitful and our families hale and hearty!! It's that time of the day again and it is by far the most anticipated time of the day as well where I get to share with you all @ my @SteemIt Fam about how my day went. So gentlemen and ladies, I humbly welcome you all to today's edition of The Diary Games on my blog!! Today's episode promises to be the best yet!! So guys, sit tight and enjoy 😄
So today being the 18th day of December 2025 has been as smooth as smooth can be! Remember I already mentioned on a previous post that I'd closed for the year and fully in holiday mode!! 😅

I have been taking life as easy as can be since last Sunday when my Xmas break commenced. Just on Monday, I had traveled down to calabar, my home city to come spend the remaining days and weeks of the year. It's been all fun spending time with my family as I have missed them!! It's been over three years since I last visited and to say the excitement was a frenzy when my parents and siblings saw me will be an understatement! It was something out of this world!! I was almost moved to tears. Ever since I have been here, it's been rest, rest and rest, exactly how I wanted it and today was no different either!! 😄 I woke up at about 11am!! Don't be surprised y'all! 😅

Lately I have been sleeping like crazy!! I need all my worn-out tissues replenished!! Not like I slept till 11am though, but I didn't leave my bedroom until 11am! I was just indoors scrolling through my phone, taking short naps between intervals. It felt so good after I woke up. Felt brand new!! Sleep indeed is the best form of rest!! After I left my room, I grabbed my brush, said morning greetings to my parents, siblings and cousins who actually live with us and then went outside to brush my mouth. While brushing, my Dad approached me with a signed cheque urging me to go to the bank and cash the cheque for him. My dad is In his 70's and not as vibrant as before.

This i obliged and immediately after brushing, I washed my legs and arms, applied a bit of oil on my feet to help make it look shiner as this is the harmattan season, got dressed in my jogger trouser and blue collar neck polo and then left for the bank. Usually, here In calabar, I live very far from the main (tarred) road and since I didn't have enough money on me except just about Four Hundred and Fifty Naira (N450) which I had budgeted to use as transport fare to the bank on getting to the highway, I had to trek. It takes about 35-40 minutes on foot from my house to the main road. So off I went, trekking!! After about 40 minutes, I got to the highway, trekked a bit down so I can get to the Cross River basin Authority round about so I can take some pictures for today's survey, and then flagged down a taxi and boarded. 15 minutes later, I was at the Bank. My Dad Banks with the UBA (United Bank of Africa) which is also my bank as well. So on getting to the Bank, I went in, borrowed a pen from a fellow customer in the bank, filled the blank spaces on the cheque slip and then took it to the counter to cash. The Teller lady asked me a few questions which I answered and even asked for my BVN which stands for Bank Verification Number just to be sure I was sent by my father. After all the screening, I was eventually paid and I left. I should have taken pictures though but taking photos inside the bank hall is highly prohibited. After receiving my cash and exiting the bank hall/premises, I crossed over to the next lane and boarded a taxi back home. In no time I was at my bus stop or should I say junction which is a really popular location called Ekoson junction, named after the popular Ekoson Filling Station. So after getting to my bus stop, I alighted, paid the cab man and proceeded on my journey home. Along the way, I began feeling hungry and so I decided to buy some snacks and a plastic bottle of Fanta.

Everything (i.e the snack and Fanta drink) cost about one thousand Naira (N1000). So while walking home, I munched on my snack and Fanta drink. Slowly but steadily, I moved until I got home, went into my dad's bedroom and handed over the cash to him. He in return gave me two thousand Naira as tip thanking me for a job well done!! What a feeling that was!! 😄 So I took the money from my father, went back into my room and continued with my rest. After about two hours of sleeping, this time it was almost 4pm, I got up and went outside. On getting to the veranda, I noticed my mom, elder sister and cousins cracking some melons. I also joined them and together we all cracked the melon while gisting. After cracking the melon, I started feeling hungry as I hadn't had a proper meal since morning. My breakfast which was already on the dinning table was just there waiting for me. It was afang soup and garri swallow (eba). And so I headed to the dinning table, ate my food and then hunger was gone!! Some minutes later, this was almost about 5pm, I poured some water into a bathing bowl and went to the bathroom. After taking my shower, I went back inside my room as I was done with going out for today. I went into my room at about 6pm and I haven't been out since then. If I ever feel hungry tonight, I'll go to the kitchen and get something to eat, but if I don't, it's goodnight till tomorrow. But as for now, I am simply scrolling through different websites on my phone as I type this as well. Whatever happens again tonight, I promise to let y'all know on the next episode. But as for now, it's fun time with my phone!! Ciao!! I love you lots!! 😘🥰
