Hello, Steemians in this community of great minds. I extend my greetings to you all in this community. We all know that the major problem we face in nigeria as a whole is unemployment that is why i want to tackle this issue in this contest today and i thank @ninapenda for this privilege.

Choose a global or local problem (education, waste, traffic, unemployment, loneliness, etc.).
||-

Propose a simple, realistic solution that does not rely on advanced technology.

The global problem that is faced mostly in Nigeria or even worldwide is unemployment. A young man will finish school, get his certificate and other qualifications, and still be driving a "keke" (tricycle) on the street all because he couldn't get a job. High unemployment rates among Nigerian youth lead to frustration, poverty, and brain drain. Some talented and intelligent youth are now calling education a scam and a waste of time and resources because they are discouraged due to unemployment, and instead of going to school, they would rather learn a trade or skills because they just can't withstand staying that long in school, and yet at the end, no employment, so instead of going through that long protocol, they learn to become self-employed. Unemployment has caused so much havoc in society today; many graduates are now gang leaders, robbers, hackers, murderers, cultists, and the like. This is not supposed to be so in society, and I'm not still certain if the government or private sector can do anything about this issue because the rate of unemployment is so high that even if they want to recruit them, they won't still be able to employ all of them. In order to solve this problem, here are three solutions I recommend to solve this issue.

  • I will recommend microloans or grants for the unemployed to start small businesses of their preferences.

  • I will offer business training and mentorship programs to those that are interested in learning and improving their skills.

  • I will support youth farming cooperatives for those who are interested in farm work because farm work these days is bringing food to the table.

Who would benefit most from this solution?
||-
  • Unemployed youth: Unemployed youth will definitely benefit from this solution because they are the major victims of this problem. This solution will help them to gain skills, experience, and job prospects, which will enable them to live an independent life.

What possible challenges or limitations do you think your idea might face?
||-

Some of the challenges or limitations I think my idea will face are going to be associated with the empowerment and training aspect of the youth because most of them may not like to participate and think it's a scam or that I'm trying to extort money from them. So I think it will take a lot of time and resources to try to convince them that my ideas are true and genuine, and when I'm able to convince them, I will still have to ensure that they are well trained and accountable in what I'm going to teach them because if they are not well educated, my effort will be a waste of time, and some of them might give up on the process, so I will have to put in a lot of effort to bring out the best in them, and that can be quite challenging too because I might have to forfeit some of my personal activities/schedule to shape their lives.

Thank you.

I invite @bossj23 @elijah247 @basil20 to participate in this contest
