I agree with your environmental mission. We know trees don't grow as quickly as pumpkins or mangoes, but they take decades, even hundreds of years, to function as large-scale water reservoirs in the soil. Their strong roots grip the soil in highlands and cliffs, thus protecting against landslides.

Officials always argue and control illegal logging, using the pretext of "we must protect, maintain, and care for the forest." Wow! In reality, they receive illegal payments under the guise of "investment" from extensive and continuous logging and forest exploitation.

There is no prosperity for the people from forest exploitation, except for the flash floods and landslides we have experienced in Aceh Province.

This is why I strongly support your mission, or whoever is in power, to launch a national-scale tree-planting campaign and other environmental initiatives. I think it would be more effective if tree planting began earlier than felling.
