**Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 87: My Childhood Dream Profession and My Present Reality

Hello everyone, good evening to you all and welcome back to my blog.

What was your dream profession and why did you aspire to become a professional in that field

Honestly growing up, I always wanted to become a Medical Doctor. I wanted to become one not because it was what I had passion for but because literally everybody in my Class back then in Primary School wanted to become one. It was just a childhood fantasy.

What is your present reality? Did you pursue it or found another interesting path along the way?

I'm a Microbiologist by Profession. I didn't pursue Medicine because I'm someone that hates the sight of blood, Infact, things easily irritates me. I studied Microbiology in School because I loved Biology back then in School and I performed excellently in it.

Why did you change your dream profession If you did & why didn't you change if you didn't?

In kept on saying that I wanted to become a Medical Doctor until an experience changed my mind when I was in Secondary school. That very day, I and other Students went to a well known Mission Hospital to see a fellow Student who was involved in Accident. Immediately we entered the Accident and Emergency Ward, my whole body started reacting, I couldn't stay there and I ran out and waited for them outside. I can't just explain what happened to me that day. After that experience I started imagining what Doctors go through and that was how I erased every thought of being a Medical Doctor till date.

Is there any regret for what you do today?

Honestly, so far i love the Course I studied in School and I don't regret studying it. The only painful thing about studying the course is because there is no job opportunities but I believe that one day an opportunity will arouse.
