My Experience with Neighbours

Hello friend!!

Describe one memorable experience you have had with a neighbour. Was the experience positive or negative?

Yes I have had an experience with a neighbor. I don't always like to relate with neighbors living alone. But at a point in my life I just had to start relating with people gradually although still knowing my boundaries.

One time I went to visit someone and that person had male neighbor. I stayed there for a while and one day I went out and came back that afternoon only to notice the gate was locked. I didn't have the key to the gate. The person I came to visit wasn't even at home because I called only to be informed that an emergency came up so made some travel.

I kept knocking on that gate hoping someone will open the gate, the landlady finally heard the knock and came out, standing at her corridor cos it was upstairs. From there, she kept shouting call whoever you are looking for, I can't open the gate for you. She even said I was disturbing her, that I should leave. I even explained to her everything but she ignored me and went inside.

The sun was so hot that day, look at me, not knowing what to do or where to go, I started crying. Just then I heard the gate opening after I had stayed out for two hours. A neighbor opened the gate, with compassion he asked me what the matter was and I narrated my story, he told me not to worry. He went straight to the woman to reprimand her for what she did.

Afterwards, he came in and prepared a very delicious local meal and while I was still trying to console myself of what happened, he knocked at the door presenting the meal to me. He said pls stop crying and eat this food. That was so intentional and caring. It touched my heart.

What lesson did you learn from that experience?

Learnt that kindness can be shown in small things, it doesn't take ony big things to do so. I also learnt that wickedness is inborn in the heart of many people, you don't need to do so much for them to want to show it to you.

I also leant that it's good to be good to people, it doesn't take much to be at peace with people around you. Imagine that I wasn't seen as a good person by that neighbor, he won't have had compassion on me to the point of even cooking to give to me.

Do you think neighbours are that important? Explain

Yes I think so. I think neighbors are very important. Just imagine what would have happened to me if I didn't have that neighbor?

Have heard stories about how neighbors save the day when there was emergencies around the house. Having a neighbor has both advantages and disadvantages. But I chose to see only the advantages.
