I am starting by wishing all my Steemit friends good health. Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah, I am very well. I will participate in a great engagement challenge today. The theme of the engagement challenge is SLC-S28/W3-Local Taste, Global Twist!| “Healthy Local Cuisine Challenge!”. So let's get started.

Tell us about the steps to make your favorite food healthy and prepare it.

Today I will share with you a traditional local food recipe from our region. The name of the recipe is "Sabji Chapti". This food has become a local traditional food from a farmer's family food. Most of the people in our region are involved in agriculture. This food is eaten by almost everyone in our region very easily. In addition, this food has nutritional value, that is, this food is a healthy food.

Anyway, everything I need to make this recipe was given to me myself.

Preparation Method:

  • Step 1: First, I will wash the coriander leaves in clean water and chop them finely. Then, I will wash the tomatoes, carrots, green chillies and onions in clean water and chop them into small pieces.

  • Step 2: Now, I will take a certain amount of Atap Rice Powder in a bowl. Then, first, I will add chopped coriander leaves, chopped tomatoes, chopped carrots, green chillies and chopped onions.

  • Step 3: Then, I will add a certain amount of salt and mix it well with my hands. No water is needed here, the water will come out through the head and a beautiful mixture will be created.

  • Step Four: Now, heat a pot on the stove and when the pot is hot, roll the mixture into a ball with your hands like a job.

  • Step Five: Then cover it with a lid and when it becomes flat, turn it over with a spoon. I will cook it for about 4 minutes without adding any oil. After that, when it is done, I will remove it from the stove.

  • Step Six: Since this is a local dish of our region and the local people eat this dish with green chilies and onions. So I will serve this recipe with green chilies and onions.

• Which ingredient or cooking method did you change?

Yes, this is a traditional dish of our region. This dish is usually eaten with kanji rice powder instead of atap rice. Kanji rice is rice soaked in water for a few days in an earthen pot and then ground into powder. Since I did not have this rice, I made it with Atap rice powder. By changing this ingredient, this recipe tastes different and the flavor is also different. Because Atap rice and Kanji rice have different flavors. I liked it quite a bit. I have been feeling cold for the past few days and I wanted to eat something different in the morning. I really enjoyed making and eating this dish today.

How has the new version affected the taste and feel of the dish?

The new version has greatly affected the taste and feel of the dish. First of all, this dish is made with the vegetables that are available at home. Our local farmers grow different types of vegetables around their house and they make it with all those vegetables. The vegetables that I have used here and the different flavor of Atap rice added to it, the dish is quite delicious. I have not been very fond of food for a few days but today I really enjoyed eating this dish. This dish is mostly eaten in the morning during the winter season in our region. This vegetable soup is a delicious dish made with a combination of various vegetables and Atap rice powder.

Why do you think people should try this healthy version?

Kanji rice is usually soaked in an earthen pot for a few days, due to which a flavor is added to the rice. But if Atap rice is used in this dish, it does not need to be soaked for a few more days. As a result, it is a little crispy and delicious to eat. There are some cultures from the past that people are now innovating. I think people should make a healthy version. Because food maintains a good health of a person. So any innovation should be brought to keep food healthy. Apart from that, the recipe I have made is a healthy dish and different types of vegetables have been used here which have vitamins, nutritional qualities.
