Which two (or more) cuisines did you combine? Tell us why you chose those cuisine as you share the processes.

For today's competition, I have combined two dishes, namely Polao rice and Shrimp Bhuna. Today, I have made delicious Shrimp Polao by mixing these two. Usually, in our country, Polao rice is eaten with beef or chicken curry and shrimp curry is eaten separately, but today I have tried to cook Shrimp Polao in Indian style by combining these two. I thought that if you make a new dish by combining these dishes, it will be a perfect combination, so today I have cooked Shrimp Polao in Indian style.

List of Required Materials:

Ingredients NameQuantity
Polao rice1 cup
Shrimp1 pis
Chopped onion2 pis
Garlic-ginger paste1 tbsp
Nut paste1 tbsp
Onion paste1 tbsp
Green chili2 pis

Cumin powderhalf teaspoon
Cinnamon-Cardamom powderhalf tbsp

Step 01

1000043486.jpg1000043489.jpg

First, I will make onion beresta, for this, I will put a pan on the stove, add some oil to it and add some chopped onions to it. Now, I will fry the onions for some time until they turn reddish in color. Then remove them in a bowl.

Step 02
1000043491.jpg1000043496.jpg1000043500.jpg
1000043502.jpg1000043579.jpg1000043508.jpg

Now I will add some chopped onions in the same oil and fry them until they are soft. When the onions become soft, I will add almond paste, ginger-garlic paste and onion paste one by one, then stir well, mix everything together and fry for a while. So that the raw smell in the ginger-garlic paste goes away.

Step 03

1000043519.jpg1000043521.jpg1000043523.jpg

Now I will add 1 cup of water to these and stir well. Then I will add all the powdered spices to it and then grind the spices for a while. Once it is ground, I will add the shrimp to it and then stir for a while and cover the pan with a lid so that the shrimp is cooked well.

Step 04
1000043524.jpg1000043527.jpg1000043529.jpg
1000043531.jpg1000043536.jpg1000043538.jpg

When the shrimp is cooked well, I will remove it from the pan and keep it in a bowl. Now add the washed pola rice to the ground spices in the pan and fry them for a while. Once fried, add 2 cups of water to the rice and stir well. Now add cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and two green chilies.

Step 05
1000043541.jpg1000043543.jpg1000043546.jpg

Now stir the rice well and cover the pan with a lid and cook the pola well for a while. Once the pola is cooked, turn off the stove and put the shrimp on top of the pola.

Step 06

Now take this delicious shrimp pola on a plate and serve it beautifully. Here I have used the fried onion rings to serve it. You can also do it differently if you want.

What made you think the combination would work well together?
1000043560.jpg

Yes, of course this mixture worked very well together. I have never tried this before, I decided to make such a dish because of this learning challenge but I could not understand exactly how this new version I made would look or taste. But I am very happy to see that my mixture worked very well, and this new dish was also quite delicious to eat which was beyond my expectations. 🤧

Did you face challenges while creating your fusion? Share with us. If no, share your experiences.
1000043575.jpg

No, I did not face any such challenges while making this fusion. Although this is the first time I have tried to combine two mixtures like this, I was also a little nervous inside, but till the end the new version I made turned out to be quite tempting and delicious. Besides, I enjoyed making it quite a bit, it was a different experience that I had never had before. I tried my best to make this dish perfect but I don't know how well I managed.🥲

How do you think the flavors you used represent unity in diversity?
1000043562.jpg

In the recipe I made today, I used some flavors that I think definitely represent unity in diversity. Because I tried to create a new taste by combining two cultures. Here I tried to convert our country's pulao rice into Indian shrimp pulao so that a new taste is created in it. I think the combination of these two that I have created will be a very nice complement. So I think the unity of diversity is revealed in the new version that I have created.

Arriesgarse en la cocina resultó muy bien, un plato distinto para degustar, me encantan los camarones, acá preparamos paella, es arroz con mariscos. Bendiciones y saludos desde Margarita.

Thank you so much ma'am for this lovely comment.☺️💙
