TO ALL CONCERNED NIGERIANS

You know I woke up this morning thinking on the shape or order the Nigeria social system is taking. As Nigerians, we are very much aware of the ever increasing involvement of youths in a combo of cybercrime and money ritual practice. It is no news that many people have compromised their social values for financial freedom while some have taken a step further to trade their souls for money. The society has so much degenerated to the point that we now pride in what we ought to condemn. It pains to see some of our lovely childhood friends grow into beast all in the name of money. And to see that they have no regret and fear about what they do makes one wonder if they still live with a conscience.

I still remember the disturbing story of some secondary school students who killed a girl for ritual purposes. These are school boys whose full responsibilities are still for their parents to bear yet the love of money took hold of them and turned them into murderous monsters. You can see that no longer is social vices classified by age. We now live in a society where the tendencies of all age groups cannot be underrated. Even a day old child can now give a shocker. With regard to these boys, one can only imagine some of the terrible things they might have done in time past before they attained to the point where ritual was no big deal. This of course is one unsuccessful case out of the many successful ritual cases in our country. Fraudsters and ritual killers with the brand name: “Yahoo boys” freely walk our street with no one to apprehend them. What shape is our society taking?

I won’t fail to mention how our misunderstanding and mishandling of civilization have dragged us into immorality. Listen! My goal here is not to condemn or to impose on you what I consider a better lifestyle but to make you see what lies ahead of our children unborn. Let us reason this together: if morality suffers this much in our generation what level of moral decadence will our children experience? Oftentimes when I read through social media comments to see people’s reaction to issues, am always stunned by people’s complimentary comments on sensitive issues that bothers on societal values. There is an obvious erosion of our cultural beliefs by westernization. We no longer hold on to our beliefs on the topic of sexuality, abortion, marital relationship and many more relevant topics. All we say is: it is my life and I can choose to live it the way I want! But the big question is:
