SLC-S31/W1-“Creative Interpretation| The Word (Invisible)
My follow steemians and members of steem4nigeria community I am here to share my own personal collection or contribution to this amazing contest. I want to thank @ninapenda for giving us the avenue to showcase our sense of creativity in this particular contest.
Here is my contribution. It's a short story with mysterious happenings.
The Fall That Opened the Veil
Years ago, when I was still young, I went out to have a good time with myself. I loved climbing trees as a child. It was one of the ways I played with myself, a secret language between my body and the sky.
One day, while climbing a very tall mango tree for fun, the branch I held snapped with a sound like breaking bone. I fell. The distance between where I hung and the ground yawned like an abyss, and time itself seemed to stretch.
After seconds that felt like centuries, I landed. I could not feel myself for minutes. My breath left me, but I did not leave the world. Instead, I slipped into a trance, and my soul unmoored from flesh.
I traveled. Not through air, but through the thin skin that separates the physical from the beyond. There, colors had sound and shadows whispered names I had never learned. Figures without faces watched me, not with eyes, but with knowing. I was a guest in a place that remembered me before I was born.
I slept there for about twenty minutes, though time meant nothing in that realm. When I returned to this present world, my body was cold, my palms sticky with sap and soil. Everything felt like a dream soaked in starlight.
I could not describe what I saw when I woke up. Words were too heavy for it. I was both invisible and invincible, as if death had looked at me, tilted its head, and decided I was not yet ripe. Since then, I have never climbed a tree without listening for the hush between branches, the place where worlds touch.
Explain what “invisible” represents in your interpretation.
On the literal meaning invisible is an ambiguous word. It doesn't have one definite meaning: as an adjective it is:
1. physics optics Unable to be seen; not visible.
2. (Internet) Apparently, but not actually, offline.
3. (psychology) That is ignored by a person.
Meanwhile as a noun, it's:
1. (obsolete) An invisible person or thing; specifically, God, the Supreme Being.
2. (obsolete) A Rosicrucian; so called because avoiding declaration of his craft.
3. (obsolete) One of those (as in the 16th century) who denied the visibility of the church.
In my own words invisible has something to do with being untouchable and invincible. You can't destroy, damage or overpower what you can't have control over. You will be lying to yourself if you think of doing anything bad to something that is invisible and invincible.
Describe the emotion connected to your piece.
The image connect in the sense of having a sober mind. When we do things out of sober mind it reflects our reality. We can connect with the life beyond the physical and visible world.
That's my thoughts.
If your interpretation had a color or sound, what would it be and why?
Life itself is invincible because the creator of the universe is infinite. So I say me interpretation is that life is beyond verbal description. It's far beautiful than the word beautiful.
I just hope you have learned something new from this post. I hope you like my post. Thanks for going through my post and blog. Keep steeming.💙
