DIARY GAME: A Construction Of A Decorative Block Entrance For A Residential House

On this very good day I built a beautiful entrance to a house by carefully laying blocks, each block was placed to create a strong and a attractive design so that the entrance can look neat and welcoming.

The work Process was started the site Preparation:
By clearing the area and shifting some material that was close to the working environment ground.
Then I marked out the layout using pegs and strings to ensure straight lines.

The foundation work was digging a shallow trench about 1ft + deep and I poured a concrete footing to provide a solid base, after the concrete pouring,the next day I started laying of the blocks by mixing cement and sand in the right ratio for mortar.

I placed the first layer of blocks, ensuring that the are leveled and aligned directly I also used a spirit level and plumb line to maintain a straight walls then I applied mortar between each block for a strong bond.

Some Steps that was taken during the process:-
• I Prepared the foundation to ensure stability.
• Laid the blocks one by one in a straight line.
• I used cement to hold the blocks firmly together.
• I smoothened the surface for a clean finish.

Materials that i used was;
Concrete blocks
Cement
Sand
Gravel
Water
Reinforcement rods optional for extra strength

My finishing touches:
I smoothened the joints with my rubbing word and my trowel for a clean look and I applied a light wash to remove excess mortar from it and I allowed the structure to cure for at least 24 hours.

Challenges & Solutions:
The uneven Ground: I adjusted the foundation depth after digging the first part so that it will be more bigger.
The weather Condition that very day was rainy so i covered the work with a tarp to protect it from rain.

Result
The entrance now has a strong and beautiful structure that improves the look of the house, it's stand firm and add elegance to the house also the straight lines and the neat finishing give it a professional look
This project improved both the function and beauty of the home’s entrance.
