I think it's a fatal mistake to base your sympathies on who is against the same things as you are. Because the things you are in favour of can still vary greatly - so be careful when choosing friends in this way...
And I wouldn't call a friendship without trust, sorry. That's what makes a friendship special: blind trust that doesn't make you feel bad...
