Analyzing the Current Condition Of The Country

Having checked the current condition of the country in all aspects, there is a steady decline in the quality of life within the circle of different levels of human existence in Nigeria. The country gained its independence in 1960 from the British Empire. Since then, it has been building its track record, intersecting with different constitutions and leaders.

The first civilian president was Benjamin Nnamdi Azikwe who had emerged as the first flag bearer of the National party in 1979. Having enjoyed a season of military rule, the country plunged into democracy. The country’s constitution is the supreme and overseeing authority designed to guide and guard the activities of the citizens of the country.

Muhammadu Buhari who had a time in history ruled the country emerged as the new president of the country and currently is rounding off his work as our president. He was born in 1942 and he hails from Daura. He gained power in 2015 after defeating the previous president, Ebele Goodluck Jonathan in the general elections.

Since then, the country has been in a cycle of uptrends, and downtrends. There was a brief season of respite as the incumbent president found his footing in the corridors of power. Before Buhari became president, there were cases of insurgency however, the potency of the surge of insecurity increased with time into the reign of the incumbent president.

The case of kidnappings greatly increased in number as bandits also intensified their operations. The armed men raided and are still local government areas of states within the country. Their reach has been stretched from the North to the middle belt, and the southwestern part of the country.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has been clamoring for the government to settle their long-term financial agreement. The union had just ended an industrial action that lasted over 5 months, and within 365 days, they already are on another strike. The strike began in February as a warning strike up until it became a full-fledged strike.
Consequently, some states have refused to pay their workers. These government workers who toil day and night to the end that they fulfill their civic responsibilities do not get paid on time or at all. Furthermore, the state of the value of Nigeria's currency has been on the downside for a long time now. The NGN/USDT is towering above 570 naira and it doesn't look like the trend is changing any time soon.

These and many more are the things bedeviling the sanity of the country Nigeria.

Why Do You Think You Should Be Suitable For The Position of A President

To be candid, occupying a leadership position is quite difficult. The challenges that come with being misunderstood and judge regarding every single decision you make or don't make are enough to weigh anybody down. I may not be best suitable for the position of president however, I may have one or two positive changes to effect, that will change the narrative on the landscape.

First, the education sector needs an urgent transformation. We need to scratch off the current mode of operation prevailing in the education sector in the country. Looking at first-world countries, we can see that their education sector is up to par with the current technological trends. Courses studied in the Nigerian Tertiary Education system need to be refurbished with the curriculum that is driving the education sector in countries like the USA, China, Japan, etc.

Secondly, we would need to consider the security and health of the nation. Insurgents have permeated the nooks, and crannies of the country. There is no haven in the country. Just this week, news of the attack that was carried out in a catholic church in Owo, Osun state raved the media space. This spread more agitation and fear amongst the inhabitants of the affected area and the country at large. Several sects are plaguing this country with violence ranging from the age-long Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen, armed bandits, kidnappers et cetera.

The country has been in a perpetual state of penury as lives keep being lost. This is one of the urgent sectors in the country that needs to be considered.

The availability of social amenities in their needed quality and quantity is still something the country is yet to have a full grasp of. I desire that there is a stable supply of power, water, good roads, and whatnot. These are the major problems facing the country asides from economic meltdown, brain drain, unemployment et cetera.
I feel if I am granted the opportunity to be in a position of power, these are the sectors in the government I would give great attention to.

IDENTIFY THE MOST PRESSING PROBLEMS THAT YOU CITIZENS ARE FACING AND TRY TO PROFFER SOLUTIONS TO THEM.

Crime'

Basic Amenities

Unemployment / Poverty

Education

Corruption

  • I will quickly run down the list of problems facing the country. Crime being the first on the list is an important subject matter worthy to be discussed. Having seen the impact of insecurity on lives and property, I believe every Nigerian prays that the season of invasion ends. We need urgent intervention in the security condition of Nigeria. Firsts, the solution to this problem would be to supply the Nigerian Armed Forces with the latest war and tactical weapons that would confound the insurgents. Secondly, employ the services of advanced and first-world countries to the end that they schedule courses and training sessions to upgrade the battle awareness of the Nigerian armed forces. These are more hold the power to radically improve our security condition in the country.

  • Unemployment is currently the order of the day as many students are graduating from different institutions and heading into the labor market with no assurance of a job opportunity. Imagine spending, 5 years in university just to graduate and be jobless because of the lack of structure needed to keep graduates busy with productive jobs. One way the government can sort the issue of unemployment is by observing how job creation is done in first-world countries and following suit by implementing the strategies in the country.

  • Basic amenities such as good roads, electricity, clean water, school, and hospitals are greatly lacking in the country. The government needs to solve this by allocating more funds to build these structures to the end that there is a uniform distribution of these amenities over Nigeria.

  • Corruption is eating deeply into the fabric of society. I have been disturbed by the deep levels of corruption in the country. Usually, the government would legislate and enact laws built on fighting the corruption levels in the country however, the reverse is the case now. Politicians are at the center of money laundering, diversion of funds, misappropriation of funds, and other forms of theft. The civil service is laced with corrupt practices where applicants no longer get employed in regards to their qualifications and certification but, according to their

Do you have any innovations you are bringing in?

I already have answered this part of the question in my previous explanations. The innovations I would bring would be tailored towards increasing the self-producing capacity of the country to boost our economy. There is a static posture in our agricultural sector. The food intake of the country keeps increasing sadly, and our rate of importation is following suit. I would suggest that a system that favors the availability of food in the country and still enough to be exported is implemented.
Furthermore, I would ensure that throughout the stay of people in schools whether at the secondary or tertiary level, there is serious work done to imprint the need for job creation among individuals.

Conclusion

The country is in a state of great potential transition. With the elections coming up fast, we expect and pray that we will make the perfect choice that would drive the country to a new level. Beyond religion and individuality, we hope that there will come a synergy between the corners of this country to the end that we move the country to its new level.

You have presented a great analysis of the political history of your nation.

Important aspects to deal with during his administration would be the educational issue, health, and the growing crime.

The incentive of agricultural production would be of great importance for the economic recovery of the nation, managing to cover internal needs, and have import capacities.

Self producing capacity

Exactly what we need. We import too much

Like more than a small country with our finical metrics should be importing

The state of the country is very worrisome. The kidnapping issue is what has been giving us heartache where I live. I reside in Abuja, exactly where thousands of people have been kidnapped, of which some are my family friends. We all live in fear. Once it's 7 pm, you are indoors. Like seriously, the country is in a big mess. Nice write-up.
