Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 120: What I Will Do Differently This Year

Were there things you felt you didn't do well in the previous year and how did it affect you?

I didn't do a lot of things in 2025 which affected my growth. I remember the tempo and energy we got into the new year with, resolutions here and there but in the end, I was able to achieve just a few.

I had plans like

• Staying consistent on Steemit.
• Learn a new course to upgrade my skills
• Growing my personal brand on IG and LinkedIn.
• Generating another source of income aside from my 9 to 5.

I wasn't able to do half of these things. I tried but the outcome wasn't much.

Not building my brand hindered me from getting some job offers. Most companies rejected me because I didn't have enough to show that I could do the job I was applying for.

What were the limiting factors or the cause of the poor outcome? Do you know better now?

The major limiting factor for me was I struggled to build my own brand because I was handling 4 clients accounts.

I thought taking on more clients meant more money but I was wrong.

It took my time because each client will want my attention to handle some tasks and at the end of the day I wouldn't have time for my own.

Handling 4 accounts affected me in the way that
What I'm praying for is to get either one or two clients that will change everything for me.

• I wasn't at my best.
• Didn't deliver excellence as expected.
• I passed deadlines without delivering until further notice.
• I was left burnt out the majority of the time.

Yes, I know better now. I've realized that at the end of the day, what I earn from each client wasn't worth the stress. Now, I prefer to work with 2 to 3 clients. Once open to working together. Once that will be open to new ideas, to grow their brand without streaking the daylight out of someone.

Is there a need for you to do those things again better this year or you now consider them irrelevant.

Yes, I still consider them relevant and there's a huge need for me to do things better this year.
Being too comfortable wouldn't make me achieve anything.

That's why I have to revisit my goals and get back to work.
I have to build my finances, at least to the stage where I don't worry much about anything knowing that I have a backup somewhere.

How do you feel about the new year, generally.

I feel great about the new year. I've been able to gain clarity about some things that I want to do. It's not going to be easy, by the way. One way of the other, I'm going to get them done.

Currently, I'm working on getting some systems in place in a way that I don't have to show up but still be working.
I'm also committed to showing up on Steemit. Maybe not everyday, but at least once or twice a week.
