Rugged and Untamed - Out of The Lock Down, and Into The Woods

in GEMS6 years ago

A few days ago I was mentioning in one of my posts that I plan on taking the ATV out and have a spin around town. Well, today was that day. I got out at about 11:30, actually waking up just half an hour before that, having a short night sleep but, the day seemed to be more than inviting, to just stay inside.

So pleasant, to make it worth having this ride. Went to the garage, took mister Cectek out, warmed the engine in town for a bit, and than headed towards the monastery on the hills near by. I didn't attended any religious procession and the reason I headed that way was that it has some nice trails around it, that I haven't been on for a while.

The road up to the monastery is a paved one, and it's quite nice to ride on it as well, with its uphills, twists and turns but, rolling this thing on tarmac, makes not much sense. About a hundred meters or so before reaching the monastery I just had to turn left around and there I was. In the middle of a forest road, surrounded by trees, birds, and hopefully no beasts that would eat me. Don't like the thought of wolves or other motherfuckers out there, especially when being along in the nature.

On this trail I even rode with the bike last year, and honestly it didn't looked that good. At that time there were plenty of fallen trees and I hat to carry the bike more than it carried me.

This time around I see that the authorities have cleaned the trail, and even put down some trees to make space, thus you can even get there with an SUV if you feel like. I got with the ATV.

It wasn't a hard task for mr Cectek at all, to roar and rule the trail but, at some point I started getting all sort of branches into my face and didn't liked it. Hence I turned around and headed towards the monastery road. If I would have pushed more, I would definitely be able to make it to the other side and get to town.

It was a bit boring going by myself though and that's why I didn't pursued the tracks but, since we have the #facesofhive new trend I thought I should have a selfie for you, and myself.

Got to the monastery, which was very crowded with people out of lock downs willing to pray, meet and have some time away from their homes. I found myself a parking spot, and it wasn't a hard task at all, considering that we were not big fatty boys, and quite flexible, and walked for a bit around the monastery.

I like its design, and the view over there is quite spectacular. I mean, spectacular for my taste. You can see the course of the Danube pretty clear from the hills and the Serbian cliffs, and that wooded construction is definitely my type of home. If I will ever own my house it will for sure be a wooden one.

From the monastery I rode back to the main road of the town and instead of turning left, I made right, and had a short visit to the guesthouses area of the town. Over there I realized that the clouds were following me and I took them on my camera lenses, just to have proofs of stalking.

For someone that is not from the area is quite hard to realize but, these four pics actually have two countries divided by the good old Danube to show. In the following you have the Romanian banks on the left and the Serbian on the right.

Here you have on the right side a few guesthouses, close to each other, and on the left side, on the superior side of the pic, all those hills you can see are the Serbian ones. If your eye sight is great then you're gonna even spot a small Serbian Village somewhere at the base of the green hills.

This one was the last pic of the ride and after having a look at the week in the sideways mirror it was time to get back home. The belly was asking for his rights and my personal, no guided tour, was coming to an end.

A pretty nice Sunday so far, and hopefully the week to come will be at least as good as this one. Crypto prices seem to be rebounding as well, and we might finally have the post halving bull market that the Gods predicted. Have a great day!

Thanks for attention,
Adrian
