The Wrong Side of The Chain

Youtube is a sneaky streaming platform, one that learns your preferences whether you have logged in with your google account or not, and it always knows what to serve you whenever opening it, for a daily dose. I have to admit that I am an avid video consumer and the palette of video types that I consume is quite wide. I'll usually watch almost anything from music, crypto, cars, animals, funny videos and sometimes even entire TV shows, and I often end up getting caught for hours.

Quite often though I'm getting dog videos recommendations, from YouTube, and not always they're the cutest and fluffiest ones. Sometimes I'm blown by some smart ass pup, more clever than most of my neighbors, and sometimes I get to see a shy tear struggling to reach my cheek, after watching a sad dog's story. It's the type of abandoned dogs videos, that I hate to watch but, still can't hold myself from opening them.

I empathize quite easily with both man kind and animals, and when I see hundreds of dogs being abandoned all over the world, some sort of a rage mixed with pity starts burning in my heart. On one hand I would adopt almost all of them, and on the other, I would punch those bastards that left them chained on a fence and never looked back. Something similar to the last video that I watched a few minutes ago, telling the story of a female pitbull, 2.5 years old, that was simply abandoned near a fence, tied, showing scars, and a broken lip, scared of everything around here, and not knowing who to trust anymore.

I have a high respect for rescue centers, and I dream, if I ever get rich, to make my own one. How do these animals end up in such conditions? I will say that there are many factors involved leading to such a painful situation for the dog, rarely for the owner unfortunately. I guess many of them end up being abandoned due to the lack of responsibility of the owner.

Puppies are cute, are tinny, they somehow invite you to adopt such a cutie, or buy one but, they do grow, most of them, they're a daily responsibility and it's not quite cheap to have a dog. Hence quite many around the word end up not being able to take care of their dogs anymore, others being forced to give up on them by all sort of life situations, and many poor souls like the above mentioned one end up abandoned in suburbs, or other places.

The way I see it, when you invite a dog into your life, you added a new family member, and the question that might arise is would you abandon your son, once life becomes tougher, or when you move to a smaller place? I doubt most would do that, although this race called human never ceases to amaze me. Normally, if you see your pet, as a soul and a family member you would stick with him till the rest of your life, no matter what... We don't live in a normal life though...

Many subjects of such videos showing abandoned dogs are pitbulls. Why does that happen? I guess because not all understand the breed before buying one, and as in most of the cases, once they served themselves of the poor animal, and bred the females for years, or sent the males to fights until they no longer perform, they dump em on the streets. I know that pitbulls have been created to be though but, I also believe that the owner has a crucial impact on the dog's character.

Many are seeing bully breeds as beasts, and some might even be born as such, pretty much as humans are but, in most of the cases, I believe that the owners make them become beasts. They train them to fight, they throw them in cages to fight one against the other, and they treat them like shit until the poor animal ends up in desperation and does harm to people around him, or other dogs. I don't think any pittie wished to get in a dog fighting ring. I see the cases of native aggressive exemplars being quite rare.

Who's the beast then? The dog fighting other dogs, or being aggressive with people, or the scumbag turning him into that? I bet it's the owner that carries the guilt for turning a puppy into a killing machine. And once they've had enough with the poor animal they throw him, or abandon them, chained, without water or food, and with absolutely no regrets for their deeds. I've said it and will say it again, it's humans that are the most dangerous beasts on the planet. We fucked up everything, from the environment, to fauna, pets life, and the way we treat each other.

If the whole world, as we know it, would end up collapsing tomorrow there wouldn't be any other criminal to be blamed for it, other than our damn race. The biggest beast that has ever lived on this planet is the modern man. My guess is that our ancestors bad effects on the planet are a child's play compared to what the modern homo sapiens sapiens has managed to achieve in a few decades.

I've said it a couple of times on this blog, and will say it again, I wished to have a dog ever since I was a kid, and am currently 33 and still don't own one. Why? Because I'm not responsible enough to have such a soul besides me, taking care of him, and even the thought of abandoning a dog, after moths or years, would break my heart. That's why I stayed away from getting a dog. Maybe one day, I will have one but, my life sure has to be whole different than it currently is for that to become reality. Can't afford to tie a family member on a fence and leave. It's heart crushing.

Some show absolutely no feeling though in using dogs in dog fights, excessive breeding, treating them totally irresponsible, and in misery for years, and than abandoning them in a sec with no hard feelings. Even for a dog is almost impossible to leave his owner but, that doesn't stop thousands of owners to leave their dogs away. The beats in these situations, for most of the cases, are on the wrong side of the chain.

Thanks for attention,
Adrian

Sometimes I wonder if people still read something around here !

I guess not too many. I admit not doing that too much either.
