El exceso de fluor, provoca una sobresaturación de iones esto sucede en el período de formación del germen dentario, el esmalte se vuelve más poroso y en vez de fortaleceloel, lo debilita haciendolo mas suceptible a la caries y a la sensibilidad.

The excess of fluoride, causes an oversaturation of ions this happens in the period of formation of the dental germ, the enamel becomes more porous and instead of strengthening it, it weakens it making it more susceptible to caries and sensitivity.

Además de eso estéticamente, produce unas manchas blanquesinas o blanco lechoso, que dan un mal aspecto ya que no es agradable a la vista ya que no hay uniformidad en el tono del esmalte, esta es la caracterítica mas relevante.

Besides that aesthetically, it produces some whitish or milky white stains, which give a bad aspect since it is not pleasant to the sight since there is no uniformity in the tone of the enamel, this is the most relevant characteristic.

Actualmente se han realizado un nuevo tratamiento a base de microabrasiones para darle uniformidad al tono del diente, sin ocasionar sensibilidad en exceso con los blanqueamiento, ni el desgaste que pueda ocasionar la colocación de carillas estéticas.

Lo cierto es que todo exceso provoca el efecto contrario, las personas que padecen esta patología son más propenso a la caries. Debemos tener cuidado con una ingesta de fluor exagerada.
