Inheritance

What an inheritance! You are richer than you thought. Dr Casado sentenced with a smile as he entered the room browsing over the lab results. He lifted his eyes off the paper and looked at the patient reproachfully.
I am not in the mood, doc. Just tell me what it is and be done with it. José answered signaling his wife to turn the TV off.
What did you say your mother die of? Dr Casado asked playfully.
A mix of things; can’t name them all.
And your father?
Same shit, only a different combination of things. Does it really matter now?
Well, maybe not now. It mattered some years ago when I told you to take better care of yourself. You managed to inherit both your mom and your dad’s killers. If these tests were a stock market chart, I’d say we’re riding a bull.

"In one day?" I asked, admiring his luck.
“That’s what the doctor said; new thing from China”, he told me. Allegedly if the Chinese were able to build an entire hospital for thousands of patients in ten days, they were perfectly capable of healing just one patient in one.
“How are we gonna pay for that?” I asked him genuinely concerned. We were broke and everybody around us was too.
He told me he had a plan. I never thought my kidney was part of that plan.

Broken glasses, upside down chairs and tables. It looks like there was a fight, don’t you think? Do you think the wife might have done this, inspector? She looks very disturbed.
What do you expect? Her husband was stabbed in front of her. Of course she did not, the inspector answered matter-of-factly. She’s jabbering about some kind of inheritance. Maybe they told someone, who told someone; next thing you know everybody knows you’re rich and they want a piece of the pie. It happens all the time.

Thanks for your visit

How are you doing @hlezama? I hope you and your family are fine. Warm regard from Indonesia: @ayijufridar.

Hi, @ayijufridar
Thanks for asking, man. We are doing ok, all things considered. I have not been very active here lately, but once in a while I try to report on family and political events and how those keep affecting us. It's a never-ending story.
Hope things are well in Indonesia
