Are you powering down? || Steem - Hive thoughts!
It will be always hard to leave Steem. I put my time, effort and a little money also to build my account. And now, it looks like I have to leave. But the question is, 'should I'?
And the answer is, 'I really don't know!'
I have powered down. Not because I want to leave Steem but because I'm not sure about the future of Steem.
I'm not getting enough ethical validation to be on the two boats at a time- Steem and Hive. Also, I'm posting the same content on both platforms, not every post but some of them. I personally believe this is not a healthy practice, though many are doing so. But as I was saying, I'm not getting ethical validation to do so. Don't feel offended, it's totally my personal feeling and choice.
There are many reasons to leave Steem maybe. But there are many more to stay. I owe Steem so much. Steem gave me an opportunity to explore the online world in a different way, a platform to share my life and thoughts, a place where what I do I do it for enjoyment, a place where I can make a little money. And leaving all at once is hard for me.
I'm seeing a lot of Steem users are still hanging in Steem. I guess they are also feeling the same. And to be honest it feels good to see them. It still feels like home. And about hive. It may take some time to make us feel like home. Though there are many who solely supporting hive and already shifting there.
But yeah, I have to approve that I'm still not sure!
So, what about you? What you are thinking? Or you are just doing what you used to do, what others are doing?

lets say steem, for me, became an exclusively speculative asset right now. Only because I am not sure what are the plans of mr Sun, and that's all. I am not a supporter anymore. There is only one chance for steem to recover which is:
When I say that, I mean other kind of user or a new addition to the usage of steem itself. Although I do not see any advantage for a regular user o learn how to use steem, if he can use hive... doesn't make any sense right now. we are just speculating. For some time, steem will be used only for pump and dump, and making some satothis, that's all. Probably, in short term, less knowledgeable people will stay here. long term, it depends on what they are planning to introduce into this blockchain. AS I said, right now it doesn't make sense why someone would keep this platform. Most probably Mr sun will pump it, sell it, and then return it to the community as he said. lets say we are hostages here, just like we are with covid-19.

What you are saying makes sense. There's no point to bring new people to Steem. And people who are still here, I guess, they are not sure as like me. Maybe they can't go because of the reward pool or they are supporters.
Whatever it is, I'm not seeing any other option to sit and wait for what happens next.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have started a power down, am cross posting but at the end of the day I don't know what to do.
Think I'll just leave my steem in liquid for a while till I make my decision though I suspect js might just dump all of his steem once he has the 3 day power down he wants which would almost leave my steem worthless. Oh well, we shall see.
Yeah, we have to take a quick decision in this financial thing. If there's no future, it would be sad. But if there's, then I don't know if I could sustain this way anymore or not.

If we get a transfer, of all our means, 1: 1, to the hive, then what's the point of turning off the power?
As I understand it, turning off the power in the Steem, you turn off the power in the Hive ...
Frankly, for me, the distribution of tokens between the two platforms, what will turn out in the end, so far, are not entirely clear, I could be wrong. It will be seen after the first week of shutdown, I will check.
No, our every transaction mirrored on the hive before it was live. After launching, it's two separate platforms. My Steem activity or wallet will not reflect in Hive.
Well, I'm not sure if I would get enough time to spend on both platforms. And if I have to leave anyone, it must be Steem, as it seems like.

I've been reading through many comments related to new hive chain and I've seen your comment too. Many users are being torn, however majority seem to be moving to new hive.
Are you fully moving there or will you stay on both chains? Just curious. I'm trying to figure out what to do myself.
Frankly, for now, at this stage, I do not know what to do. When I see that the hive has entered the work 100%, when I see the hive engine, which will interact with the steem engine, I, there, now, have a lot of different tokens, maybe then I will decide. But, for now, I'm unemployed, I can afford to spend time on two platforms, lol. As they write in other comments, everything will determine the time spent, I have enough of it, lol.
