Settling in

We are settling into the new place and I think that the fastest to adapt has been our daughter. Normally she is reserved with new things, yet has made this her home at remarkable speed, despite the challenges of lockdown life.

We are going to renovate so are distributed across temporary rooms, which means things will change. I am hoping that when it eventually happens, she will shift as fast. I think it will be the case as we will involve her in getting her own room ready and that'll likely make her impatient.

It isn't going to be a fast process by any measure though, as we expect the renovation work to run into te he years as we are on a tight budget and will add to it from salaries... If we have jobs. But, we are hoping that the upstairs area will be move-in-ready in the first 6 months.

Currently, we don't even have a place to wash clothes, so we have to likely take bags of laundry to my wife's parents, as public laundromats aren't really a thing here, and the closest and only I know of is in the city, about 10 kilometers away. Luckily we are mostly on remote work and don't need too many changes.

Speaking of work, I am heading to the office today and need to get ready - I have no idea where acceptable office attire currently is in the house, as there is still a lot unpacked and in boxes. I guess since so few will be on premises, I don't have to worry about impressions too much, and I will be locked away recording for most of the day anyway.

Hopefully, I can write a little during my breaks too.
