Steem Foods: Bisaya Unique Food
One of a fun activity living in an island is going island hoping or just simply going to a public beach. And everytime we go to the beach you can never miss eating Lukot. Lukot is actually a unique food found in Cebu. If you are wondering what it is it looks like noodles in texture but has a green color. Just put vinegar, chopped onion and some tomato and you have a Lukot salad.
Lukot is actually called SEA HARE SECRETIONS and it has a string of eggs of the hare inside it, it's more like a caviar. Now that sounds yummy and expensive.
If you ever come to Cebu try this delicacy and witness for yourself how tasty and mysterious this food is. I'm sure you'd fall in love with it just like I did. Again, for me, it is simply the best flavor of the sea.
Next is sea cucumber or we call it bat. You can also mix is with vinegar, onion and tomato. I love having this in the beach. You don't really have to spend much for fun and enjoyment. In the public market you can buy 20 pesos for a pack for the sea cucumber salad.
Lastly I had to boast our hanging rice or puso coz you can only find this in Cebu. Its actually rice wrapped in coconut leaves. Its always sold hot and fresh coz at the end of the day it gets spoiled so you have to consume it during the day.
And now we are ready to eat. Tara mangaon ta bai! bisaya style.
