Introduction

Hello great people and my dear friends of steemfoods .Hope you all are doing great? .I want to use this opportunity to thank the organizers of theses contests for giving us the opportunity to go through this tour. It has been amazing working with Steem Venezuela , Steemit pakistan and other marvelous communities . Today is is time to get down with steemfood community. It is a huge contest and I am super excited to be part of this amazing contest . it is not just about the food but a marvelous way to show our culture and lifestyle . like I mentioned on my post about my country.

I did say Cameroon where I come is very rich as far culture is concern from the dressing style, to the language ,cultural manifestations in the form dance, drama, etc. Today I have been given the opportunity to show case one of the rich delicacies of our country. I am going to be cooking this by myself, yes by myself..My wife is going to sit and observe this time around from a far..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I am going to season chicken plus fufu corn. This will be used as a supplement .another Version of this is “katikati” purely tradition with red oil. But to be frank I do not not like that version I love mine with a little a bit of spices and some extra ingredients . My gas just got finished so i am going to be doing this in the firewood kitchen “traditional kitchen” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣ashh it is going to be hot and smoky but we do it for the culture and the contest . And because of time constrain I am actually typing this post and cooking at the same time.

This meal was suppose to go with vegetables but the vegetables was already prepared the previous day by my season. It was in the fridge and there was no electricity and I asked her to prepare it. I will present this beside what I am cooking today . I preferred seasoning the chicken this way because we are just two of us and may use it to cook other meals for a few days.

Let us get started. I will start by listing the ingredients and their prices

The process

Part one

The chicken seasoning

  • I started by putting some water on the fire. this hot water will later be used to pluck chicken's feathers
  • While waiting i arranged the spices

IMG_20220501_070925_7.jpg

  • Then I slaughtered the chicken and cut it into pieces.
    IMG_20220501_064739_8.jpg
  • I cut the chicken into slices, washed the slices and put them inside the pot

IMG_20220501_071030_6.jpg

  • Prepared all the spices and put into the pot
  • I did not put any water because I did not want it to cold too soft and since we will be preserving the chicken for some few days.

IMG_20220501_073359_4.jpg

  • Then I allowed it to season for about 30 minutes, I did not actually time myself though .

IMG_20220501_081434_1.jpg

  • In a few minutes it was ready and I dished into the flask

IMG_20220501_084004_1.jpg

Part two

Corn Fufu

  • we already had corn flower in the house so I took it a sieved

  • Put the corn flower into hot water stirred until it was ready.

This is the vegetables my sister cooked the previous day..I will use it to eat the fufu🤣🤣.

That was basically all I did so just had my share .My sister had gone to church she will come and help herself. I am inviting those around me to come have their share.
But I heard today is ghost because of the Labour Day in the English sections of our country so you may want to carry a bullet proof while you come

Conclusion

I particularly grateful to the #steemitblog for organizing these contests. I have never thought of preparing a meal and sharing but here I am. And I must confess to you the process is not that easy. The sweating, the smoke the heat and everything …. “merde” we need to come in once in a while or most of the times especially when we work less outside to assist our women. They are doing a wonderful job cooking . That is why I am setting 10% benefit of this post to steemfood for my own support 😂😂😂😂.I hail you all my ladies ……..

Thank you all for going through this post

Oh my God! I love eating huckleberry and fufu-corn and you y know what? Ouuuf! That's my traditional meal and I like it peppery.

I can see how you have sweated in the kitchen and I'm so proud of your efforts too. Now we know all men can surely cook and cook very deliciously but you guys don't want us to know. Now I know ehh!

When I travelled to my work station and my kids and husband are left at home here in Bamenda, before even traveling he always insist I prepare different soups and refrigerate in order for him to just make what it's accompanying the soup with.
I was surprised during one weekend I told him I'm not going to come back but surprised him that I met my husband cooking and sweating in the kitchen🤣 cooking Fufu-corn and huckleberry.
Then I knew what men can not do don't really exist when it comes to domestic work🤣🤣🤣
Another scenery was when I recently put to birth this 4th child and since it was via Cesarian section and my mom was with me in the hospital which is kilo meters far from home coupled with the ghost towns, my husband responsibility was to solely cook for us in the hospital and for our kids too at home. You know! I wasn't supposed to eat just any type of food. But I was happy he devoted some effort towards cooking.

Yes dear i know all tribes in the Northwest region are so attached to fufu corn. And I know where you come from it is your stable food ....

Like seriously dear we can cook the fact is just that we hardly have time to actually exercise the patience and bring out a good meal.

But i give much respect to our ladies out there you guys are so special and are doing a very wonderful job for us.

Ashhhhhh your guy is romantic like myself 🤣🤣🤣🤣... I remember when my wife also put to birth i cooked for almost 1 week before mum took over...

Well my friend. You are indeed a good blogger. Keep up. The sky is our starting point..

And you know! Women love romance and should I tell you a little secret!🤔🤔
Women love when they're cooking and their men support them in the kitchen to either slice some spices or keep them company

🤣🤣🤣🤣 A don copy that one ohhhhhh. I will always try it . But when i am coking i don't like dusturbance ..

Thanks for the secret ...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Woow woow you are outstanding bro. Your choice of dish is the best I have been reading throughout the whole week on different authors various dishes because your choice of dish is purely traditional and most of the other authors dishes are modern dishes

My gas just got finished so i am going to be doing this in the firewood kitchen “traditional kitchen

But wait oooh, you be first wan cookam for wusai 🤣🤣. You no know say them do ever cook katikati na for 3 stone fire side? Most especially fufu, So tell me, how do you prepare fufu in the gas whereas fufu requires extra power to prepare it most especially during the stiring process. However, everything have become modern now because I see people mostly prepare fufu but In the gas. I haven't tried that before because I always prepare it but in the 3 stone fire side

Meeeeeeerde your method of preparation is quite modern because I see you didn't used red oil in the katikati and most of all, you used spices there too. But this method is pretty cool and I also love it because of how tasty and delicious 😋 it is

Asay ehhh bro, you wicked oooh. You cook my favorite chop no even invite me na how nor
