How to Prepare Delicious Catfish Barbeque, Step by Step Process by @ddwosky

Hello great steemians today am going to show you how to prepare delicious catfish Barbeque at home and it tastes exactly like or even better than the one you eat at joints and restaurants.

Let's talk about the main recipe the Catfish itself, you may ask why do we prefer using catfish for the barbeque instead of other fish?
Well the answer is that Catfish has a lot of health benefits, it has low calories and it is packed with protein, vitamins and minerals and healthy fat.
Catfish is particularly rich in heart-healthy Omega-3 fat and vitamin B12 which is healthy for consumption by human.

Apart from the health benefits, let's talk about it's availability. Catfish are one of the most widespread fish species worldwide. They adapt so well to their environment so that they thrive, that is why you can always find Catfish on restaurant menus and at grocery stores in fact the truth is that you can have a catfish pond in your compound and it's easy to manage.
So you see why we chose catfish.

Let's get to the business of the day which is preparing catfish Barbeque at home.
First you will need to get the recipes and other items for your delicious Barbeque ready, they include

  • Catfish
  • Fresh pepper
  • Ginger
  • Tomatoes
  • Garlic
  • Ripe Plantain or irish potatoes
  • Onions
  • Dry mix spices
  • Vegetable oil
  • Aluminum foil
  • Grill

How do you begin?
First get your table size catfish, wash it with salt or vinegar or hot water to take off the slippery outer body and thicken the flesh since catfish is normal soft in nature but in this case am using lime to wash my catfish.

After that you cut the fish by the sides to allow the spice and seasoning to marinate into the fish.

After cutting you still wash the fish with lime to be sure it is clean.

Now you are through with washing, it's time to prepare your barbeque sauce and here you will need the following items,

  • Fresh tomatoes
  • Onions
  • Fresh pepper
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Oil
  • And seasoning cubs

Blend all this items together using a blender then fry then in the oil just as you make your stew.
When you are through with the you now place your catfish on an aluminum foil but remember to grease the foil with oil so that the fish will not stictk to the foil while grilling.

After that you apply you dry mixed spices to fish
rub it thoroughly around the fish and make sure it marinate very well

Wash and cut you ripe Plantain into a plate.

Place the pieces of those Plantain on the already spiced catfish and at this point pour some quantity of your barbeque sauce on the fish.

Now your catfish Barbeque is almost ready, so wrap the foil around the fish and make sure no place is left open or is leaking, then place the foiled fish on a hot grill and allow it to remain for at least 30 minutes.

Then boom! Your delicious catfish is ready for your enjoyment.

I normally enjoy mine with a bottle of beer by my side and it goes so well, I eat with friends and of course my best friend and soulmate @ eliany enjoys it as well, before we could eat the fish it was night already so we eat it as our dinner.
