Today I will share to you my simple recipe of Chicken Tinola with Malunggay. Though this is simple but full of nutrients, a healthy dish best serve for persons who are sick. Actually I prepared this dish for my sick son in two consecutive nights so he will regain his energy. This is also good during rainy season or a cold evening.
I say this is a healthy dish because of the ingredients I have use.
- Malunggay, which is rich in iron
- Lemongrass, use to relieve colds and flu
- Ginger, helps reduce inflammation and great aid in digestion
Here are ingredients:
- 250 grams chicken
- 1 small size ginger
- lemongrass
- Malunggay or Moringga leaves
- 1 pc small size chayote
- 2 pcs green chili
- 3 cups water
- salt to taste
Simple Procedures in cooking :
Prepare the ingredients as follows:
- Slice and wash the chicken
- Peel and slice ginger
- Peel and slice the chayote into cubes
To cook:
First, fill the pan with water and put in the chicken, ginger and lemongrass. Let it boil.
When it boils, add in the chayote and the green chili. Boil again, until the chayote and chicken are soft and tender.
When the chayote and chicken are already soft, seasoned it with salt according to your taste preference. Then add the Malunggay leaves and let it boil for about 2 minutes in a low heat.
Our Chicken Tinola with Malunggay is now ready to be serve. Best eaten while it is still Hot.
Happy healthy eating everyone!!!
