Grissinis, breadsticks or señoritas flavored

in SteemFoods4 years ago

This recipe reminds me of my chilhood because my sister and I used to play with the breadsticks as if they were spades. Grissinis originated in Italy cuisine. They have a history, but I am interested in how to make them. In Venezuela we called them mademoiselle and they are mostly sweet, they are not flavored, and they are perfectly made. Grissinis don't need to be perfect.

This time I am going to prepare them salted, but you can flavor them with anything you desire, say sweet or salted. I am using rosemary, oregano and maw seeds which are very nutritive. You can also use sesame, dried coconut and ground peanuts. Let's your imagination fly.

To prepare these grissinis you need:

  • 300 grams of all use flour
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 cup of water for the yeast
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 7 grams of yeast
  • rosemary and oregano finely cut
  • maw seeds
  • 1 egg to glaze the grissinis

Preparation:

  • Prepare the yeast with lukewarm water, the tablespoon of sugar and the yeast
  • wait until it grows
  • place the flour in a bowl
  • add the salt and the oil
  • add the yeast and work the dough with your hands
  • place the dough on the table and knead it until soft enough
  • don't add more water
  • now extend the dough as a rectangle
  • cut stripes of about 1 centimeters
  • remember that they don't have to be perfect
  • add the herbs
  • and roll them up
  • they can be the size you choose
  • glaze them with the egg and add a bit of salt on the top
  • cook in the oven until they get golden

Eat them with your favorite dip and share with your friends.

Hi :

Thank you so much for sharing in the SteemFoods Community in detail how the delicious breadcrumbs you have prepared are made. I wondered if these crackers could be eaten by dieters and how many calories? It will go well with sauce + coffee. I added this post to the "Best SteemFoods Posts of the Day" on 30.11.2020. Hi thanks for your support. I think diets are a matter of quantity and not in the quality of the food. If you eat 2 grissinis instead of 10, lol lol I think you can keep your figure. My dips for me are made with greek yougurt and herbs, the one you see in the photo is made with garlic and herbs. Flour is a carbohydrate, so you need to eat less. I can't eat too many carbohydrates that is why I prefer salads and some fruits, and always eat proteins in all my meals. I think 1 grissini is the equivalent to 1 craker biscuit.
