Shrimp Fried Rice (Chao Fan) with Steamed Pork Siomai - May 1, 2021

Good day Everyone! It's Labor day today May 1, 2021....

Happy Labor day to all the hardworking individual here in Steemit!

Today, we deserve a very delicious Food. I will show you all on how to cook a very special Fried Rice (Chao Fan). Chao Fan is a Filipino Chinese Fried Rice dish which comes from the left over rice usually mixed with meat like pork, beef and even seafood like Shrimp. It is best serve with Pork or Beef Siomai as a side dish, It's up to you if you want a steam or fried Siomai. For me, I prefer a stem, since it is easy to cook to a steamer.

Many Filipinos consider this dish as a comfort food. The taste of this dish is so good at the same time the preparation is just easy. Now, let's proceed on the Ingredients of this very delicious Shrimp Friend Rice.

INGREDIENTS:

1 Bowl of Rice

1/2 kilo Shrimp

3 pieces Garlic chopped, 1 piece White Onion, 5 pieces Green Chili and 5 pieces Spring Onion Chopped into small pieces

4 Spices (1 teaspoon Pepper, Salt, Sugar and 1/4 teaspoon seasoning mix)

4 pieces Egg beaten

1 pack Pork Siomai for the Side dish

Procedure:

First, let's cook the Shrimp. Add oil in a pan, and followed by the Shrimp. If the color become golden brown, the shrimp is already cook.

Simply flip the one side, and cook another side. Set aside and put it in a bowl. This will be used for as our toppings and place on the top of our fried rice.

To cook the Fried Rice, Add a small amount of oil in a pan. Add White Onion sliced and cook until golden brown.

Saute Garlic, Add Spring Onion and followed by the Green Chili.

Mix all together for 2 minutes, then add sliced shrimp. ( I just get 5 pieces of Shrimp and sliced it to put some flavorful taste on the rice.)

Add small amount of 4 spices and also the Oyster sauce. I just put 1 sachet of Oyster sauce to simply balance its saltiness. Mix well, until partly cook/

Add 1 bowl of left over rice and stir well. Cook for 5 minutes. Mix well to create balance result and even color for rice and for all the ingredients.

THIS IS JUST OPTIONAL : Add scrambled Egg in a Fried Rice. To cook, simply add oil ij a pan and cook the beaten eggs.

Add the cooked eggs to the Rice and mix well.

Once cooked, place it in a tray and prepare for the toppings. For this recipe, The fried Shrimp will be place on the top , and sprinkled with Spring Onion.

To serve this better, I also add Siomai as a side dish. Place the Siomai in a Steamer and cook for 15 minutes.

All done, Serve in the table and share with the family :) So Yummy!
