Please buy from the small local farmers : They really need us to survive!

In today's world, it is obvious that it will be impossible to buy all our needs from small farmers/planters out there!

A big chunk of our expenses (I'm talking about food expenses here) goes directly to big supermarkets/corporations, we can't do otherwise here...

But we can definitely buy our local fruits and veggies from that small planter thriving to get a living on his products!

So this morning, I had to go out to buy my weekly stock of vegetables, it would have been easy for me to just to go at the supermarket, which is just 2 minutes drive from my house and get everything I needed!

But knowing the recent situation of everyone due to Covid19, I said to myself...why not drive a little bit more and go directly to meet the farmers/planters where they are planting and buy from them!?

This little act will surely help them...not a lot but still!

Now if everyone follows suit...it will be simply amazing!

The weather was quite nice and I drove like 10 minutes until the place where they are planting and selling!

Just before reaching on the spot...I noticed these trees which are planted for the Christmas season...not yet ready!

It is so nice seeing all the veggies cultivated in the soil like that...you can feel the care behind this!

Great work by the planters...they are such passionate people!

Here's a lettuces plantation!

And a field of cabbages, some were ready and I took 1 piece which is more than enough for me and my family for a week...fresh from the garden!

I finally managed to get one planter/seller to accept for a photo, the others were kinda shy!

I explained to him a little bit on Steemit! He was so happy to be seen later on by everyone on the internet!

I spent around 25usd and from that I got some carrots, potatoes, onions, garlic, mint, thyme, basil, pumpkin, cabbage, bell peppers, bananas, coriander, calabash , radish and bok choy!

It would be impossible to get so many varieties at the supermarket...the price would be the double and most of the money will go to the already rich people! This is really not good!

I spent around 1 hour with them, talking a little bit about everything in general and all difficulties they are facing specially with Covid19 and all the lockdowns - Really sad situations for them, I just pray things get better for them to be able to live a decent life.

I made a promise to always buy from them now on and will try bring some more people buying there.

Back home, I stored all the different veggies in their respective places...

This week we gonna these beautiful fresh veggies in different dishes...the taste will surely be much better than the ones we get from supermarkets!

So where do you usually buy your food stuffs from!?

I hope this little post will encourage more people around the world to go out and help those farmers/planters by buying directly from them...They definitely need our help!

Looking forward to read your comments on this topic!

Best regards!

I always prefer to buy from nearest market instead of the supermarket. Also, avoid buying exotic fruits and vegetables which comes from very far. Locally grown are the best!

So nice to see someone doing this!

A great action 👏🏻👏🏻 . In our country some farmers come to our door step with their vegetables for selling. We usually buy vegetables from them. This way is so easy to both of us. 😊

Most welcomed my friend!
This is great to have them come to your doorstep selling their produce...we used to have it same in Mauritius too...but since covid19, many things have changed, which is sad!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
