Oh yes...you'll read a lot about my famous local cherries the next few days!!!
It is such a wonderful moment when the tree starts giving us those yummy fruits...and it last only a few days! That's why we enjoy this short cherries season so much!
Rainy day again...weather is announced to be bad for the next 10 days...
With some strong winds and gusts from time to time, this actually do more bad to our fruits than good...
We better check on the state of our fruit trees and pick the fruits once ready. And this is what I did today...
When I lifted my head up the tree...I saw those big and dark red cherries smiling at me!!!
The biggest I ever saw...really!
I saw a lot of them actually...so my brother in law gave me a metal ladder...a high one!
So I climbed up and started picking up the best ones...
My brother in law told me that...
- As from his thinking...this cherry must be between 80 and 100yrs old!!! He knows about this tree since he was a kid and now he is over 60yrs old!
- We have to pick up the semi red also...as if they are left to ripe which will happen in couple of hours, birds and geckos will eat them up.
I always listen to people with experience in life.
Got a nice quantity...
The one below is when they are fully ripe and to their optimum taste/quality!
And the other fruits...
Right now we are having Natal Plums getting ready, also Starfruits and Cherimoya...
I am just hoping that we don't get affected with cyclones the next 2 weeks...we risk losing all these beauties!
Everyday we pick up the ripe/ready ones as we get them gradually...let's hope for the best!
