The name lechon is said to have come from spanish word lechona which means suckling pig. Lechon de leche as far I observed it's a young pig roasted (also known as cochinillo in Spain) but the pork lechon which I usually eat is a big or older roasted pig. In Visayas region of the Philippines we call this lechon baboy. Baboy means pork.

In Tess Lechon house, they also have roasted whole chicken which is famously called lechon manok. Manok means chicken. They also have sumptuous meal served for dine in costumers.

Menu and dining area
For their menu they have pork, beef, chicken, soup, and vegetable dishes. The famous pancit or bam-i is so much better than other places I have been to. This restaurant is just across where we live and it's very accessible since it is located along the road.

There food is guaranteed good. We use this restaurant as a lunch venue for my daughter's Christening. We ordered a whole lechon baboy and foods good for 50 persons. It was less hassle for us because everyone was ready when we arrived from the church.

During ordinary days, we buy food from here when we don't feel cooking at home. It's good to have my wife or mother to rest cooking once in a while.

They serve budget meals and solo orders for a very affordable price. When my wife and I tried their budget meal, pork lechon, rice, and drinks it was already good. It satisfied our hunger.

They have a clean dining area both in the ground floor and on the second floor. They upper level is usually used for special events like birthdays, weddings, and any other occasion the restaurant could cater.

Lechon manok and lechon baboy at Tess
The photos below will show you how the restaurant set their lechon both pork and chicken. Since pork lechon is big and takes time roasting, they will only received a cooked whole lechon that's roasted from the suppliers place which is also belongs at Tess restaurant.

For their lechon manok, they roast it in the morning at the restaurant. Though it takes time to roast the chicken but not as difficult compared to the pork lechon. The staff is taking care of the roasted chicken and at the same time attend to costumers as well.

Compared to other lechon house I know, this place sell a quarter part of the lechon manok. So no worries to those who craves and can't but the whole chicken. I like Tess lechon manok because most of the time I buy they are new and not from the other day.
