On the east side of this bridge, the history of the construction of this bridge is written by the Sirajganj municipality. It is written there that in 1892, Sirajganj district was part of Pabna district, at that time a river named Katakhali was flowing through Sirajganj, that right Sirajganj city was divided into two parts, due to which the then Sub-Divisional Administrator Mr. Beatson Bell decided to build a bridge to connect the two parks.

The specialty of this bridge is that there is no pole or pillar in the middle of this bridge, this bridge is 180 feet long and 16 feet wide, the bridge is built 30 feet high, so that the city of Sirajganj can be seen very well from standing on this bridge. At that time, big boats used to travel through the Katakhali river. The bridge was built high so that they could easily move under this bridge.

This bridge is completely arched on both sides of the river, the entire structure of the bridge was made using steel, wooden posts were placed on it, but due to the rains, they were repaired several times. At present, iron railings are installed on both sides of the bridge, and the middle of the bridge is welded, large vehicles are prohibited on the bridge, due to which large vehicles are placed on both sides of the bridge.
