Steemit survival, how to make it possible?

Our life here at Steemit is genuinely unpredictable. There are days that our adrenaline gets pumping and we have a lot of ideal content to create, comment on other posts, join contests, and do everything to show our support to this platform, but we cannot hide the fact that there are also days that we feel lazy, tired and bored most especially if we feel that we don't get support and seems that our effort in creating content is left unvalued. For the past years, I've observed many users are questioning the curators on how they upvote posts. Some of them even accuse curators of being biased and only voting for posts from users that they followed or knew. I guess this is one of the issues circulating around the platform ever since. But for me, quality still matters and probably that is the main reason for the curators' upvote.

Now let's talk about “Steemit survival”. I guess it is timely and relevant to talk about this serious matter in order to give some ideas to users and to help them stay on this platform.

Educate the Newcomers and let them know their value on Steemit

As one of the Steem Greeters in the Newcomers’ community, I have witnessed the newbies’ dream here on Steemit. As part of their Introductory posts, most of them talk about how much Steemit is worth to them and their plan on how they will run their account. There, we guided them about the essential rules of Steemit. At this stage, they might not know yet their value in Steemit. If not well guided, I fear they will be one of that 70% who just submitted their Introductory post and no longer proceed with their Steemit journey. Isn't it a waste of our invites if they just post their self-intro and leave? The best solution to that is for community leaders and country representatives to create initiatives to help and guide the newbies about Steemit.

Create quality and steemexclusive content

Our main investment here on Steemit is the quality of our content. It is our output wherein curators will evaluate our posts if it deserves their support or not. You are right, in our view, we all deserve their support since we spent hours doing it. But have you asked yourself if you are producing quality content? Have you used the proper markdowns? Is your content plagiarism free? Sad to say many users here are just posting content without even realizing the quality of it. There are lots of publications that will give you ideas on what quality content is. Above all be a #steemexclusive, this simply shows your sincerity and loyalty to Steemit. Re-posting your content on other blogging sites is an insult to Steemit and it is a form of fraud.

Don't Compare yourself to anyone

Yes! There are those who are “lucky users” who are blessed with curators' trust and gained upvotes on most of their posts. Instead of getting insecure about what they achieved, build yourself well to become a competitive writer. Equip yourself through research and gain ideas by reading other posts. As they say, the secret of success is not to compare yourself to others, instead always beat the old you. Many users will keep on stalking other accounts, and it will just frustrate them when they found that users earned more than them.

Do not stress yourself and Stay Active

Steemit should not be our main source of income. If you are only here to earn, well I'm telling you that you failed your expectation, you better change your mindset as early as now. Do not expect that all of your posts will be rewarded, instead be contented, and aim in improving yourself to be a better writer. Becoming a better writer alone is already a reward to yourself. Imagine your content will be seen on Google and can be read by anyone even by the future generation. For you to have ideas on what to post join the weekly Steemit engagement contest posted on the @steemitblog account. Most contest entries there are supported by the steemcurators.

Learn to love Steemit

Every steem that we earn in Steemit is like a grain of rice that feeds our Steemit account. It should not be wasted by draining our account. Bear in mind that you are here to invest by powering up your earnings. Learn to appreciate what is given by Steemit and not abuse its resources, especially in today's time when the Steem Dollar disappeared and it is difficult to earn Steem. Being on #club5050 alone is already a big contribution. Steemit needs our cooperation and understanding. Let us work together to keep the Steemit platform ecosystem healthy and secure. There are lots of reasons to love this platform, one of those is we can reach out to people in other countries where we can be called friends and exchange ideas. We can also learn some lessons wherein we can apply in our daily lives.

Conclusion

As a country rep. I have been vocal, especially in submitting my weekly report to the Steem Pod community. There I always talk about what I have observed not only in the Steemit Philippines community but also around the platform in general. This time we've all witnessed, that there are lots of well-known communities, and famous writers powering down and leaving Steemit. It will surely affect the steemit ecosystem. I hope this content will give a few ideas to all users to stay and keep their faith in this platform.

Dear @juichi

This is good question and I bet many people (steemians) are wondering how to ensure that Steemit will be still up and running in years to come.
Personally, I would not expect STEEM and Steemit to die anytime before next bull run. Things may be harder once this bull run will finish one day and we will enter another "crypto winter". Like we did in 2018...

ps.
Do you use Discord by any chance? I would like to reach out to you. Mine is: crypto.piotr#3426

Also, allow me to share with you link to my recent initiative on Steemit. I would very much appreciate if you could check it out and share your thoughts. I'm trying to gather feedback from as many people as possible.

It's not new post, but I would appreciate if you could drop your own comment whenever you're free :)
I'm trying to gather feedback from as many people as possible.

Lets us condition our minds for the possibility that may happen. It seems to me that Steemit's Team is probably prepared for those inevitable things that may occur. As long as we enjoy what we do here, we are all good to go.
