Anger can pass but your actions can stay for life
Anger is a pure form of chemistry and happens in all of us regardless if we want it or not. When we experience anger, our brain releases a hormone called adrenaline. This makes your heart race and makes your muscles tighten. This also causes a loss of your ability to have clear thoughts. This is the body and brain doing their job.
Anger alone is not the main problem. What you do during that episode of anger is the true problem.
Some actions can damage your personal belongings and relationships. Messages are sent that can never be taken back and punches are thrown that stick with a person for a lifetime. All of these actions are taken during one moment of anger. One moment of poor decision making. More damage is caused out of that feeling, that anger, that episode you had.
You can not out think adrenaline. Instead of using negative physical actions and expressions, you need to try the opposite. You need to stop, you need to wait for the brain to settle and the enraged chemicals to clear and that is your strategy to a better outcome.
In moments of anger, people want to win a certain perceived battle. The opposite is true and in fact, there is no battle that is being lost when you simply walk away to leave the anger behind. The goals should be to eliminate damage that could cause a lifetime of consequences while you wait for the anger to pass. A moment of anger, an episode of a state of mind, will eventually pass. The actions taken during that moment though, those could last a lifetime.
