Silvertop has been down this path before, and it didn’t end well Lol!🥶
Most “City dwellers” take electricity granted……
In the Mountains of the Pacific Northwest, you learn very quickly that a nor’easter wind storm not only brings a cold wind……….but also power outages!
Power outages equals no water!😳
This “Summer shower“ hangs off the outside porch of my neighbors off grid cabin.
Outside…….Hmmm!🙄
Silvertop’s first attempt at a hot shower during power outages, was the “Summer shower”…..
Indoors of course……😊
Premix the water to just the right temperature required teamwork.
Liz would boil hot water, and mix it with cold water to the perfect temperature.
The “Perfect” temperature, was either lobster hot, or WAY TOO COLD, and never enough water!😳
Adam my neighbor, is also the Bee keeper of the hives you see in my photos.
He is the very brave soul that lets Bees sting him at will Lol, and he is also using this outside “Summer shower”!🙄
Silvertop’s next attempt at a hot shower was a camping propane fired, on demand, battery powered water pump shower.
We needed to keep several five gallon buckets of water on hand for power outages ………
It worked very well, steaming hot showers!🤗
The instructions read for OUTDOOR USE ONLY, but setting this up outside in a blizzard wasn’t going to happen Lol!😇
This contraption filled our bathroom floor, and lighting this propane heater sent Cot running for the safety of his Cat/ Mountain Lion tree!😻
Now days Silvertop has Solar power, and back up propane generators… two to be exact!😇
I paused at the cabin on today’s hike to snap a few photos of Adam’s outdoor shower setup……………..😮
NOPE…………….That’s not going to happen LOl!😇🤣
