What is a “Red Tide” Silvertop?🤔
They don’t tend to use this technology anymore. Most people had no idea what a “Red Tide” was, and I think it was scaring the tourist!🙄
Now days, if pollution, bacteria, viruses or chemical pollution, is found in shellfish they will temporarily shut down fishing along known polluted beaches.
The beaches remain open for people!😇
Because shellfish live in the sandy beaches, they can potentially have high levels of contamination!😮
It’s this concentration of contaminants, that’s the problem……….
Silvertop relocating from the Mountains many years ago, and uneducated about “ Red Tide”, avoided these beaches..……just as visiting tourists would do ! 😬
The beaches are perfectly fine, just don’t eat the shellfish Lol!😇
Step over to the “ Estuary “, where fresh water meets salt water, and you have different problems!😮
In these brackish waters an invasive European green crab has been spotted!
Apparently, they destroy the eelgrass that is extremely important for salmon habitat!
Untamed beauty, that’s the best way to describe the Ocean!
With a continuous cycle of marine life happening just below the surface of the water…….. or below your feet in the sand!😊
