Silvertop awoke early to the sound of a tractor outside……….😮
“ Liz, I need to cut and load up the rest of the firewood, I hear someone working outside! “😳
Today’s firewood “race” was on………….😇
On Silvertop’s street, we have about six homes that cut and burn their own firewood to heat their homes.
Having about three cords of seasoned firewood, ( about $900.00 ) within a few steps of the pavement, is too much to pass up on Lol!☺️
“ Silvertop, do you think our next door neighbor Jamie is loading up all the free firewood in the bucket of his tractor! “😳
Crypto trading this morning was put on hold, Silvertop needed to hurry!😇
The Mountains are full of “free” firewood, the catch is getting TO the down trees, and getting back home!🙄
I loaded up my chainsaw and drove up our road to the “stash” of standing dead trees.
No one was around, Silvertop parked his truck on the road DIRECTLY in front of the down trees………..
Just like a placer miner panning for gold………..
Silvertop had “Staked” his claim for the day Lol!😇
Kurt one of my “Fire wood burning neighbors “ drove by………….
He slowed his truck down to a crawl…………
Like a drug addict, looking for his next fix, you could see “The” look in his eyes!😯
I pulled the starter rope on my chainsaw, and placed my hearing protection on, and waved to Kurt.👋
Kurt smiled, and drove away……………
Wood placer claim secured!😇
I hurried to load and off load three full truck loads today!😅
For the first day in a while, it was t-shirt weather outside.
Inside no fire burned in the wood stove ……
That’s OK, Silvertop will now be three cords MORE prepared for 4 degrees above zero NEXT year!🤘
