I'm not sure there was a joke 😆 I just couldn't think of an appropriate word - "form over function" is quite a common phrase but "function over form" didn't feel right to me. 2 years on... 'form' probably works.
lol I didn't know if you were intentionally alluding to it, but not stating it for some reason.
I suppose another option that would work is to "care far more about function than fubar appearance"
