Fear of Love
Touch becomes a question instead of an answer.
I weigh trust as if it were something fragile enough to shatter air.
Old wounds whisper instructions I never asked to learn.
Hope arrives quietly, unsure if it is welcome.
I confuse distance with safety and silence with control.
What I want most is also what I guard against.
Vulnerability feels like standing without armor in open light.
I wait for proof that staying will not mean disappearing.
Still, something in me leans forward despite the warning signs.
I imagine a version of myself unafraid to be seen.
Fear loosens its grip when met with patience.
And love becomes possible the moment I stop running.
