I want to tell you that in March of this year I resigned from my job of 20 years as a criminal lawyer in the judicial system of my country Venezuela and decided to dedicate myself to what until now had been a dream and an idea, my bakery business Majopanques, with classic and traditional sweets, which incorporate fresh fruits to daily snacks without preservatives or chemical dyes.

Not knowing anything about business but wanting to make this dream come true, I focused on this idea and so far Majopanques works only online. In April I applied for a scholarship only for women, for a business program with an Embassy and I was accepted, I was training for three months in that area to realize that I was far from knowing everything I need for my business.

I am not lying to you, they have been difficult and demanding days, to know that it is not enough to have a talent, you have to be trained in all areas. Each time I like my business more and more, it has given me an incredible strength, it has helped me to reinforce my faith in myself, to know that I am capable of doing something so different from what I have done all my life as a lawyer.

I can tell you that the regional jury was very demanding, the evaluation lasted three hours and was composed of experienced, capable and very prepared women in the area of business and entrepreneurship from programs such as UNHCR and some Embassies, who after reviewing everything that each participant presented such as business models, business plan and sales and financial projections, made recommendations and guidance. I was the winner and went on to the national competition, I was one of the 17 classified. I did not win the national competition, but I am more than satisfied with what I achieved and learned in such a short time.

I learned how to structure my pastry brand, from costs, prices, marketing, how to make a business plan and a business model, among other aspects. Today I am focused on making my business, a prosperous brand that can lead others to feel what I feel when I eat one of the desserts that reminds me of my family's tradition, and makes me know that I am capable of anything I propose as long as I have clear objectives and the steps to follow to achieve them.
