Hello my dear steemit- family,

How was your day, my friends? It was good, right? Well, mine too. It was a good day as always.

Well, I'm a Buddhist. You know, we celebrate buddha's birth on every poya day in May. So, we do many decorations and charity works on that day. But with the economic crisis we Sri Lankans couldn't do many of that like we used to be.

However, I and my husband made two beautiful Vesak lanterns. That was all we could do for Vesak.

We decorated our small house with those lanterns. We used red, yellow, and orange colors of sheets for them. These colors represent the colors of the sun.

We hung up one of them near the window of the living room. Then we lightened it with a yellow color bulb. It enhanced the beautifulness of the lantern at the night.

We hung up the other one on the balcony of our bedroom. It was a beautiful view with this lantern.

We keep those like that for like a month until this month's poya day. Poya day was passed this month, but we removed those today. They did not look like before. They changed. The colors are faded and also there was dirt on them.

Lanterns are made with bamboo trees. But there are now initiatives. These lanterns are made of plastic. So, we can use it every year. You can see it from these pictures.

These lanterns tell us a very good lesson. Look how beautiful these lanterns were before. So colorful and beautiful. Look at them now, they are faded and damaged. They completely changed. The beauty of them has gone now. Like that, everything will change in this world. Nothing is permanent. The lesson calls Impermanent.
