Managing Your Expectations on Steemit
One of the concerns people have raised about Steemit is its voting system. It seems it doesn't always favour all. You can't possibly be sure of the post which will get voted and the one which will not. There are a times when you least expect vote yet get votes and there are times when your high expectations for vote on a post never come true. This twist and turn on Steemit can easily wear off the hopes of those who are expectant for votes on all their post.
For this reason I share this piece to highlight how to manage Steemit expectations to help users to stay for the community:
Never expect too much since it leads to disappointment. A good reason to keep your expectations low is that votes are not always guaranteed on steemit. Nobody owes you anything and should be pressured to pay you. Steemit is just a community where individuals as stakeholders see the need to work together, to grow together, earn together and share rewards accordingly. It's hard to predict the one who will vote you. However you can possibly do more to attract the attention of powerful voters if you work towards things that adds value to steem.
People have several reasons for joining Steemit but I'm sure the chief of all the reasons is earning monetary rewards for their contents. I also want to earn some cool cash as well. However, we need more than just a reason to post consistently so that we will still stay even if earn nothing. Apart from the rewards that Steemit gives, what drives you and make you want to post always? if you have more than just one reason to be on Steemit then you are among those who will stay for the community. I love to learn new things, read and write; they are my passion. You can't be disappointed if passion is your serious drive on Steemit.
There is nothing wrong with being an all-rounder on Steemit, but copying and doing what is making others post trend may be a bad idea for you. You can save yourself from a lot of trouble by finding the area in which you are good and then give out your best. You will be surprise at the number of audience, readers and voters you will attract just doing what you're good at. A lot people get frustrated on Steemit because they write about anything and post on anything. just be yourself and give out your best on what you are good at. It will pay in the long run.
Some may say: If we should not expect anything then there is no need for being on a platform that promises to incentivize you for sharing your content. Anyway, I do not mean you should not have expectations but I'm concerned about how you manage your expectations. It is easy to be discouraged if you make It a point that posts should be voted at all cost. That's not how steemit works.
Just be yourself and continue doing what you think can actually add value to Steemit and steem and then the rewards will surely follow.
